Social Protection Program Manager At World Hope International

Job Purpose:

The Social Protection Program Manager is responsible for clinical development of WHI’s protection program in West Africa. Currently this includes Liberia and Sierra Leone but may expand regionally. WHI is a leader in the provision of trauma informed care and reintegration services to survivors of sex trafficking, labor trafficking and SGBV (sexual gender-based violence). The majority of WHI’s TIP (Trafficking in Persons) and SGBV programming is funded by grants, although there are other funding streams like individual and church donations and occasionally gifts-in-kind.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure adequate standards are trained upon and maintained, including policies and procedures.
  • Supervise program managers, as they manage current projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and serve as WHI’s liaison in Liberia and Sierra Leone.
  • Take a strong lead on partnerships & business development.
  • Ensure adequate standards & training for WHI staff.
  • Maintaining positive government and law enforcement engagement relations.
  • Building and maintaining safeguarding integration with programs.
  • Work closely with various line ministries and law enforcement.
  • Draft regular donor reports and annual program reports.
  • Mentor staff to ensure high levels of motivation, commitment, capacity and teamwork.
  • Promote emotional care for clinical and caregiving staff.
  • Work closely with the Director of Anti-Trafficking and Gender Based Violence.
  • Remain current on trends in TIP and SGBV in West Africa.
  • Actively support and represent the values and mission of WHI in conduct and communications.

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field from an accredited university. Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management and/or implementing protection projects.
  • Familiarity with formal and informal referral mechanisms in Liberia and Sierra Leone.
  • Knowledge of trafficking in persons and human rights programming.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working on a multicultural team.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with global staff, partners, and other donors.
  • Ability to create and nurture productive working partnerships internally and externally.
  • Assist in developing (including doing the technical writing of or organizing, partnership building, and overseeing technical writing) and submit grant applications for new and ongoing funding for protection programming.
  • Experience responding effectively to sensitive, confidential, and complex issues and concerns.
  • Outstanding analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, complex, decentralized, and geographically diverse organizational structure.
  • Proficient computer skills – especially the Microsoft Suite of applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint).

Standard office environment. Some domestic and regional international travel required.

Salary: $19,000-$25,000 USD
