Stage Data Management At Doctors Without Borders in Switzerland

Duration depending on the tripartite internship agreement: 6 to 12 months at 100%

This internship is part of an academic training program, a professional training program or a socio-professional integration program and must meet under conditions set by the Labor Market Supervisory Board (CSME).

Contexte & Mission

Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, those affected by natural or man-made disasters and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, beliefs or political affiliation (MSF Charter).

Within the GIS Center, under the responsibility of the Data Manager, the Intern will support the MSF GIS (Geographic Information System) Center on a daily basis in the management of geographic data for the production of maps and GeoApps by other teams. .

Main responsibilities

  • In-depth work on databases: research, compilation, quality improvement, hierarchy of entities, additions, etc. Manual tasks and/or to be automated
  • Contribution to research and data integration
  • Support for the maintenance of the GeoMSF platform, tag management, cleaning, publication of products (maps, data, GeoApps)
  • Contribution to the supply and management of MSF Mapper for OCG operations
  • Management of card printing at the Geneva headquarters
  • Management of hardware and GIS data for deployments (GPS, phones)
  • Participation in strategic meetings: note taking and drafting of minutes (task shared with the Communication Intern)
  • Field technical support in conjunction with the technical team

Required profile

  • Be eligible for an internship agreement with a third party.
  • Good command of ESRI ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience or knowledge of FME or Python is an asset for data management
  • Master English and French.

Working conditions

  • Mandatory tripartite internship agreement
  • Internship 6 to 12 months at 100% (depending on the internship agreement)
  • Based in Geneva
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Gross monthly salary: CHF 2,000.-
