ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
WFP works in Honduras to promote and protect livelihoods and human capital, address the root causes of hunger and poverty, and address the basic needs of the most vulnerable populations in crisis situations, in close collaboration with the government. and other partners in the country. The WFP has been present in Honduras since 1970, reaching nearly 1.5 million beneficiaries annually. The WFP has a strong presence in the field, with offices and logistics structure in Tegucigalpa, Comayagua, Marcala, Santa Rosa de Copan, Choluteca, San Pedro Sula, Gracias a Dios, La Ceiba and Puerto Lempira.
Position holders report to the Warehouse Management Assistant/Assistant or the person designated for this purpose. Job holders are involved in all phases of warehouse operations and work with a minimum level of supervision. They may be required to supervise and provide on-the-job training to other warehouse employees.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Manage the receipt/dispatch of products to maximize the quality of warehouse operations and mitigate losses, and support best warehouse management practices in accordance with WFP warehouse management standards and guidelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (indicative and non-exhaustive list)
1. Receive/dispatch products efficiently, including transshipment (truck to truck), taking into account approved official documentation (e.g., waybills and/or delivery notes) and ensuring the accuracy of the physical count of the items. products and their quality, in accordance with established standards.
2. Prepare, verify and sign warehouse and transportation documents, and maintain confidential files and accurate records of warehouse transactions to immediately account for product movements in accordance with institutional requirements.
3. Carry out daily warehouse closing reconciliation and accurate stock checks in support of internal control systems, in accordance with warehouse management requirements.
4. Conduct daily inspections and prepare reports on the quantity and quality of products received/dispatched and handled, promptly detect discrepancies/damage in stock and analyze the reasons, investigate the reason for the missing quantity and prepare reports on losses warehouse in which appropriate solutions are recommended, in order to make informed decisions. 5. Implement appropriate measures to safeguard food and non-food products, to ensure quality control using standard preventive measures in accordance with established WFP procedures and authorization received from the supervisor.
6. Monitor the condition of the warehouse and products and take appropriate measures to support efficient space planning and well-organized storage, applying WFP standards on the matter.
7. Provide guidance and employment training to warehouse staff, to contribute to their professional development and good performance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education: Completion of the secondary education cycle. Presentation of a post-secondary education certificate in the corresponding functional area will be considered.
Experience: Four years of experience performing similar activities.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish (Level C) and working knowledge of the English language for reading WFP materials and policies (only desirable).

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Position: Storekeeper FT-G4.
Contract Type: Fixed Term- Level 4 (FT-G4).
Contract Duration: 12 months with the possibility of extension, depending on organizational needs.
Work Station: Copan, Honduras.
Position open to citizens of Honduras and residents with a work permit in the country.
