Mission
BUT PRINCIPAL
Plan and supervise the execution of procurement activities in the project for one or more areas of the procurement program (warehouses, purchasing, transport and customs, etc.), in accordance with MSF protocols and standards and with the objective of ensuring the optimal functioning of the mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the efficient functioning of day-to-day procurement activities as defined by the line manager and in compliance with MSF standards, protocols and procedures. Activities may include:
- Warehouse: Plan and supervise the execution of warehouse activities and stock management within the project or in the capital: ensure sufficient stock for efficient operation of the supply chain and avoid shortages, losses and surpluses; control and monitor medical and non-medical stocks and goods and ensure that storage is carried out in the best conditions.
- Purchasing: Plan and supervise purchasing activities, efficiently and on time, within the project or in the capital.
- Transports et douanes : planifier et superviser l’exécution efficace de toutes les activités en rapport avec le dédouanement et le transport des matériels médicaux ou non de la mission.
Other procurement activities.
Inform customers by keeping them up to date on the progress of their orders and prioritize supplies and transportation according to their needs.
Supervise, in close collaboration with the HR department, the induced procedures (recruitment, training/integration, evaluation, detection of potential, development and communication, etc.) of the team under his/her responsibility in order to guarantee the size and adequacy of the required knowledge
Ensure the smooth running of the administration and procedures relating to its procurement activities.
Perform tasks delegated in his/her specialty and as specified in his/her job description.
RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC TO THE MSF/CONTEXT SECTION
As part of the launch of operational activities in Senegal on the challenges of international maritime migration for the development of technical support activities in search and rescue at sea (Search and Rescue – SAR), the supply activity supervisor will have the following specific responsibilities:
- Freight Forwarder Identification for Import of Medical Equipment and Logistics Equipment
- Contribute to the implementation of mission supply procedures under the coordination of the supply chain coordinator and the logistics coordinator
- Identify the needs and necessary storage space – conditions and access and ensure proper monitoring of stocks.
- Identification of suppliers for maritime safety and security equipment, pharmaceutical products and medical equipment.
- Ensure urgent local purchases and regular orders for the mission.

Required qualities
Experience: 1-2 years in an MSF logistics department, 1-2 years prior experience in supply chain related positions
Education: Essential: Technician diploma, supply chain
Knowledge: Computer skills (word, excel)
Languages: Mission language essential. Local language desired
Contract type: Fixed-term contract
Contract duration: 6 months
Salary (€): Level 6 of the MSF Senegal salary scale
