The “Jilinde 2.0” project umbrella, comprises three implementation science projects funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) to develop and evaluate innovative Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) delivery models, and establish evidence to simplify PrEP guidelines and support policy changes. The projects will be implemented in Kisumu, Kiambu and Nairobi Counties.

Reporting to the Deputy Project Director, the Supply Chain Advisor will be responsible for providing technical leadership and implementation of innovative strategies to strengthen supply chain management systems and ensure commodity security. S/he will work closely with the relevant government departments at national and county levels, and the implementation sites to ensure commodities are available and they are managed appropriately.

Responsibilities:

· Provide technical leadership and develop strategies for strengthening commodity security and building supply chain management systems and capacities for the project implementation sites

· Provide technical assistance and support the implementation of supply chain management and logistics related interventions such as quantification, procurement, warehousing, storage, distribution and reporting

· Monitor the supply chain to ensure availability of commodities in the project implementation sites

· Monitor product use and lead pharmacovigilance surveys

· Provide technical assistance in policy advocacy and participate in national and county commodity security forums

· Plan, organize and conduct training courses covering supply chain technical areas for relevant audiences as required, including development of training materials relevant to the targeted training group

· In consultation with the project team, guide the documentation, analysis, synthesis and reporting of project outputs and results, and ensure incorporation of lessons learned into ongoing project activities

Qualifications:

· Graduate degree in Pharmacy or any other relevant health-related field with specialized training and/or experience relating to supply chain management required

· Over 5 years’ experience in commodity security, supply chain management and health care logistics systems development

· Relevant experience in public health and HIV programs in developing countries

· Experience with the national HIV commodity management strongly preferred

· Ability to travel domestically as required to support the implementation of program activities.

· Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills

· Experience working in donor funded programs, MOH systems, and private sector

· Computer literacy, particularly in the use of MS Office
