POSITION SUMMARY:

**Project HOPE is seeking ​**Supply Chain Desk Officer to be part of the Headquarters Supply Chain and security Department and under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Global Supply Chain and security. The Supply Chain Desk Officer will provide operational support to all Domestics and Global missions/projects with focus on Procurement, Gift in kind (GIK) Management and Freight Transportation. The delivery of all logistics and supply chain related activities in accordance with Project HOPE’s Global Supply Chain policies and procedures.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Place and follow up orders to Humanitarian Procurement Centers and/or our network of international suppliers. Follow up order payment with the Finance department.

· Place and follow up orders to Domestics suppliers to support Project HOPE’s Domestics programs. Follow up order payment with the Finance department.

· Collect information regarding customs clearance and prepare the necessary documentation for each shipment to be sent to Project HOPE’s countries of operation.

· Provide remote technical support to Project HOPE’s countries of operation when requested.

· Maintain and ensure consistent quality reporting including Procurement Tracker and Gift in kind (GIK) tracker.

· Support, where relevant the deployment of HQ staff for short term missions, from a logistics perspective.

· Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in logistics or Supply Chain.
  • Certification in Humanitarian Logistic Supply Chain with relevant field experience
  • Experience (2 to 5 years) in Supply chain and logistics management (procurement, tendering, contracting, clearance, transport, warehousing, etc.), fleet management and asset management.
  • Proven strong technical capacity building expertise and experience with working with partners.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with analytic approach.
  • Ability to work in participatory manner with staff to assess needs, implement and monitor activities.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (minimum requirements)
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Has developed strong working relationships with others.
  • Be comfortable interacting with new people and groups both one-on-one and for large gatherings.
  • Be able to motivate above in positive collaboration.
  • Have the ability to identify and analyze opportunities that contribute to strategic aims, translate them into practical plans and implement them.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and management colleagues at a global, regional and national level.

  • While international travel is not a regular part of every job, programmatic needs may require it intermittently.
