Médecins Sans Frontières, an international humanitarian medical association created in 1971, provides medical assistance to populations whose lives are threatened: mainly in the event of armed conflicts, but also epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters or even exclusion from care. The French section is present in around thirty countries.
As part of a work-study contract (professionalization or apprenticeship) over a period of 24 months , we are looking, in support of the entire Pool & Course Management service, for an Apprentice :
Support for the pool and course management service – 24 months (m/f)
The Operations Department of the Paris Operational Center (OCP) is made up of 9 Operational Cells including an Emergency Cell, each managing a portfolio of countries. The Pool and Course Management Service supports these Units by offering Human Resources adapted to the fields according to the needs and availability, skills and will of the members of the pools (groups of expatriates recruited and brought together by sector) .
The Pool & Course Management Department is made up of 14 people. The objectives of the service are as follows:
- Deploy the means and propose the HR actions necessary to develop the sectors, create and evolve executives, in line with the evolution of operational needs (quantity and quality of profiles).
- Build and consolidate the career path of sector members in order to meet the human resources needs of OCP missions.
Your mission
As service support, under the direct supervision of the GP Business Focal Point and the Service Manager, and in close collaboration with other members of the team, you will participate in the smooth running of the service in terms of:
Human Resources and Interservice Management:
- Create new profiles in the HR database (Ligo)
- Provide support on Ligo and update summary sheets
- Keep the pools up to date: contact the “sleeping” pools to update their availability and CVs, follow up with expatriates by email for specific missions, keep in touch with recruits awaiting missions
- Participate in matching with the GP: candidate selection, proposal, placement, briefing, debriefing (observer).
- GP back-up (if necessary)
- Summarize the “country mission sheets” annually
- Take notes to the various committees (Vocationers, Courses, Executives)
- Participation and note-taking of weekly department meetings
- Briefings for newly recruited interns
- Compilation of PAPs (Positions to be filled) before sending to the department assistant
- Other tasks may be delegated to him
Communication and statistics (under the supervision of the Business Focal Point):
- Continue the annual Newsletter (quantitative), and set up a quarterly Newsletter (qualitative) to facilitate internal communication and give visibility to the service and its activities
- Provide support on annual pool presentations
- Statistical monitoring
- Maintain the department’s SharePoint page with
Background file:
- Develop a presentation on a transversal subject linked to the activity of the service (to be defined according to the profile and interest of the work-study student) and in connection with their subject of study
Training: You are currently following a BAC + 3/5 level course in Human Resources Management or International Solidarity Project Management, and you have a strong interest in the humanitarian sector and/or Human Resources.
Skills: You have very good writing skills in French and English, have a very good command of IT (Office Pack) and the O365 environment (Teams, SharePoint, Power-Bi, etc.) and have good communication skills.
Required qualities : You have a proven interest in the International Solidarity sector. You demonstrate autonomy, curiosity, creativity and are proactive. You show good interpersonal and adaptation skills, rigor, good management of priorities. You have a sense of discretion and respect confidentiality.
Job specifics:
Status: Fixed-term contract – Professionalization or apprenticeship contract over 24 months – Based in Paris
Conditions: Remuneration from 53% to 100% of the minimum wage depending on age and level of education. Supplementary health care 100% covered by MSF. Restaurant vouchers with a face value of €11 (60% covered by Médecins Sans Frontières). 50% coverage of the public transport subscription.
