Service Support Worker – Emergency Department

Location: Ysbyty Gwynedd Emergency Department, Penrhosgarnedd, Bangor, Gwynedd, United Kingdom, LL57 2PW

Type of contract: Fixed Term Until 31 March 2024

Hours per week: 18

Salary: £20,405 – £21,210 per annum pro-rata

We are looking for a caring and resilient person, who can think on their feet in a pressure environment to join our Independent Living team as a Service Support Worker.

Based in a fast-paced, busy and intensive Emergency Department, you will provide practical and emotional support to patients. You will carry out non-medical tasks to free up the medical staff to focus on their clinical role and make the visitors’ stay as comfortable as possible.

A day in the life of a Service Support Worker will include:

Escort patients to assigned departments
Collect prescriptions to speed up their discharge
Provide emotional support/pastoral care while they wait for treatment
Provide emotional support to close friends and families
Ensure that patients have food/drink while waiting for long hours and assist with food distribution in during mealtimes
Driving patients home after discharge and making sure they are safely settled at home
Referring patients to other sources of support in the community

Please note that this service runs from Monday to Sunday (including bank holidays) and the successful candidate will be expected to commit to shifts of up to 10 hours (flexible days).

To be a successful Service Support Worker, you will need to:

Gwybod sut i wella ansawdd gwasanaeth er budd defnyddwyr, gan ymdrin ag ymholiadau mewn modd diplomyddol a chyfrinachol.
Gwybodaeth dda am wasanaethau a ddarperir gan y GIG a Gofal Cymdeithasol.
Addysg hyd at lefel TGAU (neu gyfwerth trwy brofiad).
Bod yn llythrennog mewn TG.
Trwydded yrru lawn y DU sy’n eich galluogi i yrru cerbyd trawsyrru â llaw.

Y dyddiad cau ar gyfer ceisiadau yw 23.59 ddydd Llun 17 Gorffennaf gyda chyfweliadau i ddilyn.
