Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental, and nongovernmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of mission and the direct supervision of the Field Officer and with thematic support from the Regional Coordination Unit, the successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to data collection and reporting on specific migrant assistance activities under the Migrants Protection, Return and Reintegration Programme in Sub-Saharan Africa (MPRR-SSA).
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- In close coordination with the Reintegration Officer and Field officer, Operations, Reintegration and Protection teams, undertake specific data collection and analysis activities (qualitative and quantitative) on return and reintegration for the subsequent preparation of reports, including monthly, interim and final reports.
- Collect, compile and provide necessary information and inputs to be used for the preparation and review of periodic reports generated by IOM Senegal under the Migrants Protection, Return and Reintegration Programme in Sub-Saharan Africa (MPRR-SSA) and coordinate the collection and verification of documents and data used for the preparation of progress and other reports to facilitate proper information exchange on all operational aspects.
- In close coordination with the Reintegration Officer and Field Officer, review and track data and reports on return and reintegration activities in Migrant Management Operating System Application (MIMOSA) and keep accurate and pertinent records of all reporting files.
- Compile general background information for and arrange capacity building activities for EU staff in MIMOSA and reporting.
- Assist the teams in the reintegration activities and the recording of all activities into MiMOSA platform.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education
- High school diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelor’s degree in in statistic, data management, data analysis, International Relations, Social Studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience
Experience
- Experience in data collection and reporting is essential;
- Experience in data management and data analyst is essential;
- Experience in using MIMOSA for reporting purposes is an advantage;
- Experience in mentoring and delivering trainings is recommended;
- Experience in reintegration of vulnerable migrants is an advantage.
- Use of Microsoft Pack Office, SQL server and Kobo toolbox is essential
- In depth knowledge of data management and visualization tools (SQL,Power BI is essential;
- In depth knowledge of MIMOSA is an advantage;
- In-depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas is an advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong strategic and creative thinking;
- Efficiency, flexibility, high level of professionalism and ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines;
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds;

The appointment is subject to funding confirmation.
Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment, accreditation, any residency or visa requirements, and security clearances.
Subject to certain exemptions, vaccination against COVID-19 will in principle be required for individuals hired on or after 15 November 2021. This will be verified as part of the medical clearance process.
