Position Description

EnCompass LLC is seeking a social media-savvy, tech-savvy, determined, detail-oriented, creative, international development recruiter with a can-do attitude and a passion for building relationships, to join our growing team as a Talent Acquisition Associate. The Talent Acquisition Associate is a mid-entry level role and will support our recruiting team by sourcing the best possible candidates for assigned proposals and existing projects, interview and document coordination, relevant administrative tasks, and assist in the maintenance of EnCompass talent databases.

To be successful in this role, you should combine organizational skills with a passion for international development and recruiting, knowledge of sourcing techniques, and a desire to build and nurture trusting relationships with candidates. Ultimately, you will be supporting the team in expanding and streamlining the recruiting process as we grow and building a strong talent pipeline for our company’s current and future talent needs.

This is a full-time position located at the EnCompass principal office in Silver Spring, Maryland, and follows the EnCompass flexible hybrid work model with split time between telework and the office.

Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship for a work visa or permit.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Essential functions:

Administration:

  • Support the Talent Acquisition team in maintaining recruitment processes and tracking candidate flow
  • Assist in the maintenance of the company’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and Global Consultant Network database, ensuring compliance with recruitment guidelines
  • Coordinate interview schedules and documentations for candidates and hiring managers
  • Contribute to the improvement of recruitment strategies and practices
  • Manage relevant administrative tasks efficiently to support team operations

Technical:

  • Conduct full life-cycle recruiting for active positions, including posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offering
  • Apply diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices throughout the recruiting process
  • Source potential and passive candidates through online channels, industry networking, and career events
  • Utilize professional social media platforms effectively for talent sourcing and branding
  • Learn and apply EnCompass’ Appreciative Inquiry-based approaches in daily interactions and recruitment practices

Other:

  • Engage fully as a member of the EnCompass staff team, including participating in staff meetings and other EnCompass events, and providing administrative support to other team members as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Qualifications

Academic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and 4 years of experience, Associate’s degree and 3 years of experience, Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience
  • Degree in international development, international relations, international human resource management, or related field

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Donor-funded international development talent acquisition experience, with a strong preference for experience with USAID or other US government agencies
  • Familiarity with training, evaluation, capacity building, gender, education, communications, institutional support contracts, and global health practice areas
  • Proficient in using professional social media platforms
  • A growth mindset and willingness to learn new skills and methodologies
  • Fluent in English with clear verbal and written communication and diplomacy skills
  • Strong organizational skills with unfailing attention to detail
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines as needed
  • Demonstrated track record in building relationships with candidates and clients
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and tasks
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and databases
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and databases

Preferred:

  • Conversational or higher fluency in a second language other than English
  • Some familiarity with the OFCCP or regulations governing recruitment by federal contractors

The pay range for this role allows for the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At EnCompass, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $55,500 to $65,000.
