Mission
Geneva Call is a neutral and impartial non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting respect by Armed Groups and de Facto Authorities (AGDA) for international humanitarian norms in armed conflict and other situations of violence, in particular those related to the protection of civilians. Geneva Call focuses its efforts on banning the use of anti-personnel mines, protecting children from the effects of armed conflict, prohibiting sexual violence in armed conflict, working towards the elimination of gender discrimination, protection of civilian infrastructure and humanitarian access.

Role and responsibilities
Geneva Call is an organization which has experienced growth over the past five years and is continuing to strengthen its team: recruitment is one of the main priorities for the HR function. The Talent Acquisition Officer will manage the end-to-end recruitment process for job openings, working closely with the HR team and the hiring managers. Responsibilities include defining the required candidate profile, conducting an internal and external talent search, managing the relationship with candidates, providing ongoing feedback to all stakeholders, conducting the reference check, initiating the hiring and supporting of the on-boarding process.
- Conducts a start-up meeting with the hiring manager and the HR focal point to discuss the specific needs and requirements for the position to be filled, based on the local context and the job description.
- Finalizes the job description with the hiring manager and posts the job announcement on various platforms.
- Screens the applications and prepares the initial long list based on the pre-defined criteria.
- Prepares and organizes the written test and interviews.
- Participates in interviews as HR representative, in collaboration with the HR Coordinator and Talent Acquisition Coordinator.
- Follows-up closely with hiring managers, interview panel members and candidates.
- Manages the candidate experience from first to last contact, including introducing Geneva Call and the role; providing feedback to candidates; providing feedback and answering questions as required. Ensures high-quality recruitment services and successful delivery of key performance indicators, such as response times, time-to-hire, candidate satisfaction and overall experience for all stakeholders. Maintains accurate and comprehensive records of all recruitment activities and candidate CV’s.
- Supports project delivery linked to recruitment in close collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Coordinator.
- Contributes to annual objectives of the HR team.
- Participates in the monthly global HR team calls.
- Stays informed of external market trends and recruiting techniques. Builds ongoing external networks.

The jobholder is required to work within the framework of Geneva Call’s code of conduct and core values, promoting ethical behaviour. Ensures familiarity with and adheres to all Geneva Call’s policies and procedures.
Main qualifications
Essential criteria and requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in HR, business administration, economics, psychology or related field.
- 6+ years of professional experience out of which Talent Acquisition, managing high volume and full-lifecycle recruitment requests, and project management experience are the main areas of expected responsibilities.
- Experience working in an international fast-growing environment.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Experienced in managing customers at all seniority levels.
Experiences
- Experience of working in a humanitarian / non-profit environment and a complex & volatile context is preferable.
- Previous agency or search firm or private sector experience is a plus.
- Previous experience in recruitment marketing and employer branding.
- Proven ability to influence internal clients & hiring teams on staffing-related decisions, providing a value-adding point of view relative to candidate consideration and organizational need.
- Displays a strong level of professional maturity.
- Other languages such as French are a plus.
