DanChurchAid (DCA) is looking for an experienced Technical Advisor HRMA. The position is seventeen and half month’s position with the possibility of extension based on performance and donor funding. Duty station will be Juba with frequent travels to field locations.
DCA is working with local partners in South Sudan to assist the poorest of the poor with a focus on protection, combating hunger, working for peace and conflict mitigation and the safe removal of explosive remnants of war (EWR).

The TA is responsible for the daily management and planning of the team’s activities which, may include, mechanical and manual clearance, Battlefield Area Clearance, Non-Technical Survey and EOD Spot Tasks. Such activities will be detailed in the Task Sheet and shall be presented from UNMAS through the Operations Manager who he reports directly to however must also fall in line with DCAs Donor requirements. The activities below list the responsibilities but are not exhaustive as there may be additional tasks allocated by the Operations Manager at the request of the Donor.
Scope of Role
Daily management of a Multi-Tasking Team comprising of Deminers, Medics, Community Liaison Team (CLO) and Drivers and local support staff in remote locations though out South Sudan
Reporting relationships internal/external customers
Internal – Reports to Operations Manager,
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for all Technical / Non-Technical Survey and Clearance Operations conducted on his site, or by assets under his control.
- Overall control of deployed teams – coordinates and manages the technical approach to clearance and asset application with the consultation of the Operations Manager
- Conduct of safe operations at the task site & strict application of SOPs
- Internal QA & reporting
- Coordination with other units working at site / integration of assets (if/where applicable)
- Establish radio communications daily before work begins & checking them regularly during operations
- Accurate marking and recording of cleared areas
- Measurement & verification of the day’s work
- Control of CASEVAC until relieved
- Controlling the team funds and taking charge of local procurement for day-to-day items to keep the team operational
- Ensures the wellbeing of all members of staff within the team
- Other work as directed
