PSI is seeking an experienced, dynamic Malaria Technical Advisor I to support the Malaria Department to deliver on PSI’s rapidly expanding portfolio of malaria programs in over 27 countries, worldwide, accounting for more than a third of PSI’s total business. PSI’s new global strategy focuses on improving consumer powered healthcare through shaping market systems, shifting policy and funding and strengthening global capacity. For the Malaria Department this means moving quality malaria case management closer to consumers; bringing next generation LLINs to market; scaling response driven surveillance to accelerate malaria elimination progress and maximizing the control value of drug-based prevention interventions.
PSI is seeking a Malaria Technical Advisor I to sustain PSI’s efforts to scale up its malaria programs globally, support the implementation of technical activities in line with PSI and global best practices, capture and share best practices, as well as provide technical support to specific country programs to ensure high quality of and measurable impact through their malaria programs
Responsibilities
Your contributions
-Technical: Contribute to the development and implementation of the malaria department’s, technical activities and strategy. Provide mentoring and capacity building at individual and department level in planning, management, supervision, and quality assurance for malaria services. Contribute to development and implementation of department’s, project’s, or network member’s workplans in collaboration with the program management team with oversight from manager. Contribute to report writing and development of technical guidance. 40% of the Time
-Program Management: Provide inputs into development of budget by department’s, project’s, or network member’s program management team. 20% of the Time
-Representation: Represent the department, project, or network member internally within the PSI network. May represent the department, project, or network member externally. 10% of the Time
-Thought Leadership / Knowledge Management: Contribute to the development and implementation of the department’s, project’s, or network member’s thought leadership and knowledge management agenda, including the development and internal and external dissemination of technical and programmatic briefs, webinars, reports, and manuscripts. 20% of the Time
-Fundraising: Contribute to new business development by writing or reviewing proposals. Help PSI country offices to raise funds for malaria programs in support of national strategies, including from the Global Fund for AIDS, TB, and Malaria; USAID President’s Malaria Initiative; the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; and UNITAID 10% of the Time

Qualifications
What are we looking for?
-Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field
-Master’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field (e.g., MPH, MSc, MBA, ME) preferred
-At least 5 years of relevant work experience. Equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted.
-Demonstrate technical knowledge of malaria control. Knowledge of the malaria partnership landscape and familiarity with the international donor community. -Ability to provide technical assistance to the PSI network with support.
-Ability to produce technical products and tools with oversight and direction.
-Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal colleagues. Able to work as a member of a team and independently
-Ability to contribute to technical approach for proposals.
-Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
-Demonstrate emotional intelligence and ability to collaborate with colleagues.
-Proficiency in Microsoft 365. Familiarity with a quantitative or qualitative data analysis program preferred.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Fluency in written and spoken English; French or Portuguese preferred.
