Technical Lead At ICAP

Position Summary

It is anticipated that this is a 24-month position directly aligned to the life of the ERP project. The position is located onsite at ICAP offices on the Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) campus in New York City. The Technical Lead plays a key role in the development of the overall ERP system design, architecture, configuration, and application integration.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with and helps to build a global product development team to design and implement an ERP solution for a network of program sites.
  • Works with the project teams to ensure that project deliverables meet critical business needs that follow industry best practices.
  • Provides thought leadership and a hands-on approach around devising technical solutions while collaborating with other technologists on creating efficient cross-domain solutions.
  • Oversees developing a robust application framework with clear expectations for security, performance, flexibility, and simplicity.
  • Builds the application development technical team through recruiting and hiring, setting secure development standards, adopting appropriate frameworks, and tools for ticketing, etc.
  • Leads the multi-disciplinary technical team (application architecture, programming, data modeling/management, system administration, quality assurance, etc.) in translating business requirements to design, configure, and integrate the ERP application, including the supporting infrastructure.
  • Implements processes and best practices around development methodologies including continuous integration, static code analysis, test coverage, etc.
  • Develops out of the box, creative business solutions to account for environmental constraints — possible high data latency, inconsistent network connectivity, limited redundancy, possible shortage of seasoned technical staff.
  • Builds scalable, high performance, high availability architectures.
  • Ensures that the team applies architecture and design principles consistently and holistically to enable target end-to-end usage scenarios.
  • Sets and maintains standards for clear and concise application documentation.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned, in support of the project.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Information Technology or other related disciplines.
  • At least five (5) years of technical experience in enterprise software and new product development.
  • Experience with the development of finance and accounting-related IT solutions for non-profit organizations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and with common coding and scripting languages such as SQL, Python, Java, C++, PHP, JavaScript
  • Experience developing cross capability solutions with integrations across multiple systems, both new and legacy via canned or customized application programming interfaces (APIs) with a focus on cloud and on-premises components.
  • Experience managing planning and processes through diverse, distributed technical teams based domestically and abroad.
  • Experience gathering and defining application requirements as they pertain to business processes, application design and supporting infrastructure.
  • Experience with methodologies and best practices for secure coding, code review, application debugging and code optimization.
  • Extensive technical project management experience with a history of bringing projects in on-time and on-budget.
  • Forward thinking, creative problem-solving ability and excellent presentation and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience/background in programming and data modeling.

Other Requirements

  • Up to 3 trips of international travel, lasting 2-3 weeks in duration will be required
