Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression (SCM) is an independent non-governmental, non-profit organization. Within the framework of the work of the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression (SCM) in building a society based on respecting and protecting the right to free expression of opinion, and supporting and raising the level of media work, the media and freedom program in the SCM plans to conduct a training to enhance the journalist’s capabilities in the field of

“Communication and relationship building skills”

SCM is looking for a “Trainer” based on the attached technical requirements and the following principles:

  • Preparing a training package to enhance the capabilities of 30 Thirty male and female journalists from different areas of control in Syria and neighboring countries (under the supervision of the center’s team), to include the following items: (for example)
  1. Effective communication skills
  2. Conflict management and negotiation skills in the work environment
  3. Preparing for job interviews and grants.
  • Review the training package with the team to ensure that the training meets the needs of the target group and contributes to achieving the project objectives.
  • Implementing and managing trainings.
  • Preparing evaluation tools for training courses such as (pre- and post-knowledge assessment)
  • Modifying and developing the training package based on the questionnaire and implemented training outcomes.
  • Submitting the final training report

Required documents:

  • Proof of work in similar training that includes:
    • Excellent academic qualifications include at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (B.A or Administration preferred).
    • Demonstrable experience in implementing similar training (at least three years).
    • Proven technical expertise, particularly in the required applications and software.
    • Experience and understand the Syrian context and the issues faced by stakeholders in Syria.
    • Excellent training skills (preparing training packages – effective communication skills – feedback – evaluation tools – writing reports).
    • At least two references from previous work.
  • Financial offer including:
    • The Financial compensation.
    • The validity of the offer (duration- date).

Location of Work:

  • Online.

Evaluation criteria

  • The applicant’s experience with the training subject and conducting similar training(65%).
  • Financial offer (35%).

Communication and relationship building skills

  • Preparing a training package to enhance the capacities of journalists for approximately 30 male and female journalists from different areas of control in Syria and neighboring countries (under the supervision of the center’s team), to include the following vocabulary: (for example)
  1. Effective communication skills

    • Proven technical expertise, particularly in required applications and software.
    • Experience and understanding of the Syrian context and the issues facing stakeholders in Syria.
    • Excellent training skills (preparing training packages – effective communication skills – feedback – evaluation tools – report writing).
    • At least two references from previous work.
  • Financial offer includes:
    • Financial compensation required.
    • Offer Validity (Work Period – Offer Validity Date)

Evaluation criteria:

  • The extent of the applicant’s experience related to the training topic and his/her having completed similar training (65%).
  • Financial offer (35%).
