Tunisia: Senior Project Coordinator At Internews Network

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Internews is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator in Tunisia to coordinate the in-country implementation of a project that focuses on strengthening key electoral institutions, civil society organizations, media, and elected officials to increase public trust and inclusive participation in the political process. Reporting to the Tunisia Senior Media Advisor, the Senior Project Coordinator in Tunisia will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks of the project on the ground, making sure the project is on track with the work plan, coordinating with local partners, organizing timely completion of high-quality deliverables, and drafting regular project reports. The Senior Project Coordinator will also work in close collaboration with the MENA program team and will also work closely with several teams at Internews headquarters in Washington D.C. and Arcata, CA, which provide high-level technical advice, ensure compliance with Internews and donor policies and regulations, and offer back-stopping support.

LOGISTICS

Internews has offices in Arcata, CA, Washington, DC, and London, UK which support a hybrid workforce with staff working remotely, fully in-office, or partially remote. This is a remote-based role, and candidates based anywhere in the Tunisia will be considered.

DAY-TO-DAY TASKS will include:

  • Plan, lead, Implement and conduct regular monitoring of project activities to ensure project objectives are being met;
  • implementation and overseeing the workplan;
  • Coordinate with local partners and project beneficiaries;
  • Attend and assist in facilitation of project trainings, in person ;
  • Prepare monthly reports to supervisor on all Internews projects in execution;
  • Coordination within project team and between different activity teams, the Senior Media Advisor, and external partners;
  • Assisting the Senior Media Advisor and activity teams in logistical organization and on-sight activity coordination, planning and execution;
  • Oversee all aspects of project implementation to ensure activities are conducted on schedule and within budget;
  • Lead internal and external technical reporting, including writing all donor-required narrative reports;
  • Ensure project is in compliance with all administrative requirements, including Internews and donor regulations;
  • Communicate with media beneficiaries about trainings and other programs;

QUALIFICATIONS WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience including project coordination experience
  • Relevant university degree or or equivalent lived/professional experience
  • Knowledge of the Tunisian media landscape and strong expertise in the civil society sector;
  • Excellent communication and Strong writing skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and problem-solve in a multicultural, remote work environment;
  • Flexibility to adjust working hours as needed to accommodate periodic shifts in workload and colleagues in different time zones;
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, reliability, good time management skills;
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical skills required;
  • Ability to work well with others, meet deadlines, and respond to changes in priorities;
  • Strong sense of teamwork and productivity;
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic languages (speaking, understanding, and writing);
  • Strong proficiency in French preferred.
