Ukraine Crisis Response (UCR) – Finance Director At World Vision

The escalation of conflict in Ukraine has forced more than 5 million people – mostly women and children – to flee to neighbouring countries. With the escalating crisis, the needs are growing by the hour. More than half of Ukraine’s children have either fled for safety within the country or are living as refugees.

Since the conflict started, our teams have been on the ground assessing and responding to the urgent needs of those searching for safety. We are working to support internally displaced people in Ukraine as well as refugees in Romania, Georgia and Moldova.

Here’s where you come in:

As the Finance Director, you will provide overall leadership, oversight and management support for all aspects of financial management in the Office. This position is part of the Senior Leadership Team of the Response Hubs constituting the Ukrainian Crisis Response, with a focus on ensuring accountability, compliance and stewardship, coordinating financial planning and developing financial strategy that best serves the response strategic and program objectives.

You will be responsible for the finance staff and partner capacity strengthening, development and implementation of good internal controls, compliance at all levels, and utilization and safe guarding of assets according to World Vision approved policies and procedures.

You will provide overall leadership to the finance team based in four countries (Romania, Poland, Moldova & Ukraine) and provide adequate management information to members of the Senior Leadership Team and project/program managers.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in senior finance position with medium business/medium NGO/government agency
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance management position
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to travel regionally and internationally
