How can you make a difference? Key functions / responsibilities
The director of the College of Nursing will have the primary responsibility of leading and managing all academic and administrative activities of the College, ensuring educational excellence and compliance with established quality standards. His/her main objective will be to promote the comprehensive development of students and the strengthening of the institution as a reference in the training of nursing professionals and technicians.
He/she will be in charge of:
- Supervise and coordinate the design, implementation and evaluation of academic programs.
- Promote research and innovation in the field of nursing.
- Ensure compliance with current educational curricula and regulations.
- Develop and continually update the academic curriculum to keep it aligned with the needs of the health sector.
- Evaluate and improve teaching and learning methods.
- Manage the human, financial and material resources of the School.
- Prepare and manage the institution’s annual budget.
- Coordinate the selection, hiring and evaluation of teaching and administrative staff.
- Supervise the maintenance and improvement of the School’s facilities and equipment.
- Represent the College before national and international organizations with prior authorization from the president of the Venezuelan Red Cross.
- Establish and maintain strategic alliances with other educational and health institutions.
- Promote the participation of the College in professional networks and associations.
- Implement programs and activities that promote the comprehensive development of students.
- Encourage student participation in extracurricular and volunteer activities.
- Ensure an inclusive and supportive educational environment for all students.
- Develop guidance and academic support programs for students.
- Facilitate the labour insertion of graduates by creating links with the health sector.
- Implement educational quality assessment and assurance systems.
- Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Develop continuous improvement plans based on assessment results.
- Promote the adoption of new educational technologies and methodologies.
- Promote the creation of research and development projects in the area of nursing.
- Search and manage funds and resources for innovative projects.
- Perform other tasks of the position and those assigned by immediate superiors, based on the characteristics and special conditions of this profile, to provide a quality service that meets the objectives and goals of the organization.
Report
The director of the College of Nursing will report to the president of the Venezuelan Red Cross.

Caracas (Headquarters of the Venezuelan Red Cross).
To qualify as a builder of the Venezuelan humanitarian system you must meet the following requirements:
- University degree in Nursing, preferably with postgraduate studies in areas related to education, management or administration. Additional certifications in educational management will be positively valued.
- A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in management or leadership positions in educational or health institutions is required.
- Proven experience in coordinating academic programs and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of regulations and standards of the sector (health and education), in the Venezuelan and international sphere.
- Strong analytical and writing skills, able to foster and maintain alliances.
- Experience in facilitating organizational development processes is required.
- Ability to manage resources and budgets efficiently.
- Experience working with the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability and agreement to adhere to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
