COOPI is looking for two Drivers in Venezuela

Since 2019 COOPI establishes a presence in Venezuela to assist the local population after the worsening of the country’s socioeconomic crisis. Starting in July 2020, a regional crisis response program began, which was implemented in consortium with Venezuelan organizations for the protection of vulnerable groups. In these years COOPI has expanded its interventions and is currently executing projects with different donors in Caracas, Lara, Carabobo, Anzoátegui, Sucre and Delta Amacuro in protection ( GBV, Child Protection, Trafficking and trafficking in persons ), reproductive sexual health, WASH ( water, sanitation and hygiene ) and school feeding.

COOPI is currently implementing projects financed by COOPI Suisse, ECHO, the EU, UN agencies.

Job description

COOPI plans to strengthen its support structure at its Ciudad Guayana and Cumaná bases by hiring a Driver at each base.

Areas of responsibility

Vehicle management

  • Coordinates with the different areas of the coordination office ( Caracas ) to organize the weekly planning of vehicle use;
  • It guarantees the mobilization of the organization’s personnel and equipment / assets in the intervention areas in Caracas;
  • Apply and enforce security procedures for planned mobilizations;
  • Updates the detailed records of fuel consumption, lubricating oils, filters, maintenance of the assigned vehicle according to the defined times;
  • Bring a detailed log of mobilizations carried out on both personnel and property;
  • Notify the Logistics area of any type of anomalies and / or failures that the assigned vehicle presents.
  • Support in the logistics of land missions.
  • Carry out those tasks inherent to the objectives of the position, and that are requested by the Base Coordinator according to the context and needs of the projects.

Desired profile

ESSENTIAL

  • Current traffic license;
  • Being a resident in Ciudad Guayana or Cumaná
  • Diversified and professional secondary education;
  • Previous experience working with NGOs, UN agencies, public function and / or companies;
  • Basic knowledge of synchronous and automatic motor vehicle mechanics, gasoline and diesel; Knowledge of the current land transit law and practice in safe driving;
  • Teamwork capacity, in multicultural environments and with multidisciplinary teams; Honesty, proactive and decisive attitude, common sense, analytical capacity and discretion;
  • Confidentiality on sensitive aspects of both the organization and the people with whom it interacts in the services provided; Commitment, flexibility and if applicable availability to travel in the interior of the country;
  • Respect for the organization’s charter of values and humanitarian principles; Spanish language;
  • Venezuelan nationality or residence permit in the country;
