VIDEOGRAPHER – I-ACT PROJECT

TERMS OF REFERENCE

TITLE: Videographer– I-ACT Project

UNIT: Philippine Office

REPORTS TO: I-ACT Chief of Party/Communications Officer

SUPERVISES: N/A

  1. ABOUT I-ACT PROJECT

The Initiative for Advancing Community Transformation (“I-ACT”) project is a five-year project implemented by The Asia Foundation (“the Foundation”) with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). I-ACT aims to promote positive changes in public attitudes towards human rights and the rule of law by pioneering and mainstreaming Social and Behavior Change (SBC) as an approach to promote human rights. To achieve scale and sustain impact, the Project will support human rights coalitions, organizations, and communication workers in learning, adopting, and applying SBC in their advocacy strategies and approaches.

As SBC is a novel approach to human rights advocacy, I-ACT is developing communications materials to introduce and socialize SBC to the Project’s audiences and document stories of success in the form of videos, among others.

With this, I-ACT is looking for a videographer/s who can provide videography services on an on-call basis.

  1. TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT

The consultancy will be on a part-time and on-call basis.

Period of engagement:

March 2023 to June 2023

Level of Effort (LOE):

Maximum of 10 days, with possibility of extension

Internal arrangement

Extensive interaction with members of the I-ACT Project, specifically the Project’s Communications Officer

External arrangement

Limited interaction with the Foundation’s other Communications contractors and service providers, such as the Project’s Communications Consultant and Strategists, videographers, and video editors.

  1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Attend pre- and post-production alignment meetings, as needed;
  • Provide on-site videography services for interviews (Metro Manila-based locations) including talking heads and b-roll/filler shots[1];
  • Provide all equipment for the video documentation services, including cameras, lenses, basic lighting set-up, and audio recorder;
  • Tap camera assistant/s as needed;
  • Turn over all project files, which fall under property of The Asia Foundation, after each shooting day; and
  • Manage own transportation arrangement to and from the shooting location/s[2].
  1. ELIGIBILITY
  • At least three (3) years of experience in videography (portfolio of videography work to be provided by applicant);
  • Ability to produce quality outputs within the agreed upon timeline; and
  • Experience working with the Foundation is highly preferred.

[1] Shot list to be provided by TAF.

[2] Transportation expenses should be included in the cost proposal/rate.
