VN 036 2024 DTM Senior Programme Support Associate,G7 – Port Sudan, Sudan At International Organization for Migration

IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix regularly monitors displacement and mobility across Sudan, including the needs and movement intentions of displaced populations, in order to provide humanitarian partners with accurate information in order to facilitate programming.
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Programmes and the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Program Coordinator and the direct supervision of the DTM Research & Reporting Officers, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting reporting officers with relevant functions relating to DTM activities.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the drafting, editing, publishing, and dissemination of all DTM products (including andlimited to including Early Warning Flash Alerts, Emergency Event Tracking Reports, MobilityTracking Exercises, Weekly and Monthly Displacement Overviews, Situation AssessmentReports, and other ad hoc products
  2. Draft briefs providing analysis on displacement, mobility, and return trends utilizing DTM data.
  3. Coordinate fielding information requests from external partners, donors, other IOM teams, andhumanitarian partners.
  4. Draft and design data collection tools to be used by DTM enumerators for all DTM products.
  5. Review all information products produced by the Reporting Unit to ensure alignment with DTM-IOM reporting standards and the accuracy of DTM data by cross-checking information and identifying any discrepancies.
  6. Liaise with the Information Management (IM) and Reporting Team regarding the design and distribution of all DTM projects.
  7. Store DTM Sudan databases and information products are for future reference and analysis.
  8. Coordinate the Flow Monitoring component, including overseeing the training of enumerators on data collection tools and ensuring the timely and routine collection of data.
  9. Coordinate and monitor data collection procedures in Red Sea state, including supervising work of DTM enumerators; supervising data quality in alignment with DTM data standards; and ensuring timely submission of data to the Information Management (IM) Unit.
  10. Oversee DTM Operations team data collection activities to ensure timely data flow from the field staff according to DTM procedures.
  11. Assist in data processing and analysis as needed, in collaboration with the DTM IM team to ensure the accuracy and completeness of information to be used in all DTM products.
  12. Lead communication between Reporting, Information Management (IM), and Operations colleagues regarding data collection activities for all DTM projects.
  13. Perform any other duties that might be assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, migration studies, anthropology, or a related discipline (e.g., humanitarian affairs, development studies, political science, international relations, or a related field) with five (5) years of related professional experience, or
  • High School diploma with seven (7) years of related professional experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in project coordination, monitoring and implementation, academic writing, or monitoring and evaluation;
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in primary research and reporting;
  • Experience in copy-editing;
  • Work experience in the displacement and migration field.

Skills

  • Excellent research, writing, communication, and analytical skills; including sharp attention to detail and ability to juggle competing work streams;
  • Report writing;
  • Data analysis using excel;
  • Data visualization;
  • Proven knowledge of migration-related issues particularly regarding the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region;
  • Published reports or research papers.

Languages
Fluency in English and Arabic is required (oral and written).
