VN 037 2024 DTM Reporting Assistant, G5 – Port Sudan, Sudan At International Organization for Migration

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Programmes and the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Program Coordinator, and under direct supervision of the Senior DTM Project Support Assistant, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting reporting officers with relevant functions relating to DTM activities.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  1. Support in drafting, editing, and publishing Early Warning Flash Alerts (EWs), including facilitating communication with field teams to collect preliminary data, producing drafts for approval or additional edits, and managing the distribution of EWs to relevant DTM mailing lists.
  2. Assist in drafting and producing all DTM products (Bi-weekly Mobility Snapshots, Bi-monthlyOverviews, and ad hoc or unique products), including helping produce narrative drafts, assistingin research and data collection, copy editing, and providing input on the Sudanese context.
  3. Act as DTM Sudan’s focal point for the Missing Migrants Project (MMP), including drafting DTMSudan input to MMP reports and liaising with RO Cairo as necessary.
  4. Contribute to DTM Sudan’s Monitoring and Evaluation efforts, including assisting in tracking keyindicators for all DTM products and activities.
  5. Prepare and disseminate releases of all DTM products through DTM mailing system.
  6. Help maintain DTM internal records by ensuring the proper archival and organization of datasets and narrative drafts.
  7. Liaise with colleagues across Reporting, Operations, and GIS-Design Teams to ensure seamless communication for key work streams.
  8. Support and review DTM reports to ensure alignment with global DTM reporting standards.
  9. Support and conduct research assignments analyzing displacement and mobility trends depending on incoming requests from internal or external partners, cluster leads, and donors.
  10. Support field inquiries from other IOM departments, including liaising with the Programme Support Unit to monitor weekly achievements and updates on DTM operations and activities.
  11. Assist in providing fielding requests for information from external partners, including other UN agencies, regional offices, and HQ.
