General proposal:
As part of the Production Department, this position will be responsible for ensuring the capacity to monitor, quality, support and supervise projects and programs throughout the project cycle: a) identification/formulation, b) planning, c) execution, d) monitoring and e) evaluation.
It is responsible for providing field support to ensure the quality, relevance, design, justification and measurement of results throughout the project cycle, as well as promoting the scaling up of Action Against Hunger’s intervention approaches and methodologies.
It also participates in technical development initiatives, capitalisation and dissemination of good practices at the field team level, promoting good practices both at the management level and in terms of technical approaches.
This position is performed from the headquarters at Acción Contra el Hambre España in Madrid (with a hybrid work format that combines remote and in-person work) and 25% of the time spent in the field.
Main activities:
- Participate, with the rest of the production team, so that all projects integrate planning, execution and management tools throughout the project cycle for good monitoring and consolidation of data at the project and contract level.
- Provides direct support to the field throughout the production process from the identification and design phase to the planning, execution, monitoring and closure phases. Ensuring the coherence and technical quality of projects and programs and their alignment with the strategies
- Provides technical knowledge and strengthens the capabilities of field teams through training. Ensuring the application of protocols and methodologies according to technical competence. Identifies technical development needs and implementation problems to provide feedback to innovation and modeling processes.
- Participates in the processes of modelling interventions, development and technical positioning. Identifies good practices and lessons learned and participates in the processes of identifying training needs of the teams he/she supervises and in the selection, briefing and debriefing of technical coordinators and other technical profiles as needed.
- Maintains constant and direct communication with its functional managers, alerting them about weaknesses in our methodologies, the need for new technical developments and the identification of barriers to the scaling of intervention modalities. It also provides feedback to its MP1 representatives for the development of technical strategies on mission.
What do we expect from you?
- Knowledge and/or training in engineering, the environment, or another relevant profile. Knowledge in a discipline related to humanitarian action and international cooperation. Spanish, English and French. Mastery of at least two languages.
- Experience in defining interventions and preparing proposals. Knowledge of project planning and implementation. Familiar with project cycle management. Strong experience in providing technical support to field teams.
- Ability and interest in technical development. Understanding of issues related to humanitarian action interventions and/or international cooperation.
- Minimum of 3 years’ previous experience, including field project implementation experience. Previous experience in a similar position in both development and emergency programs
- Familiar with international quality standards. Sphere, Core Humanitarian Standards…. Knowledge of Development Cooperation and Emergency Response. Familiar with donor call processes Experience in coordination positions at field level Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
