The Project Coordinator will be responsible for, among others, the following functions:
Project management:
· Plan, coordinate and supervise all project activities with the selected educational institutions.
· Ensure compliance with the project objectives, goals and indicators within the established time period and budget.
· Lead and manage the project team, including social and logistics professionals.
· Ensure compliance with local and international standards and regulations related to WASH and humanitarian projects.
· Prepare management reports for the project supervisory team and the donor on a regular basis.
· Manage the project budget, ensuring the efficient and transparent use of resources.
· Adopt the organization’s protection and safeguarding and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) policies.
Monitoring and evaluation:
· Conduct regular visits to project execution areas to support the team and evaluate project implementation.
· Supervise the execution of infrastructure improvement activities for water and sanitation systems on site, ensuring the quality of the works.
· Implement monitoring systems to measure the progress and impact of the project.
· Prepare management reports for the project supervisory team and the donor on a regular basis.
Joint:
· Establish links with relevant local actors for the development of the project, including local authorities, the educational community and grassroots organizations.
· Facilitate the participation of the educational community and other relevant actors in the project.
· Represent Americares at the local level and work closely with the strategic implementing partner.
· Lead a corporate volunteering strategy involving members of the educational and donor community focused on mangrove ecosystem restoration and water conservation.
RATINGS:
- University degree in engineering, social sciences, environmental sciences, education or related fields. Postgraduate degree in project management, development and international cooperation or similar is desirable.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in project management, especially water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) with vulnerable communities and/or NGO cooperation agencies.
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and in coordinating with internal and external project stakeholders.
- Experience with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), local associations, authorities.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively use limited resources available and adapt to changing project needs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Handling of the Office package and digital tools for project management.
Desirable:
- Experience in the implementation and management of school environmental projects (PRAES).
- Experience in teacher training and development of educational materials.
- Ability to prepare project management and accountability reports and products.
Salary: COP. 4,000,000
