Sudan country programme is recruiting a WASH Project Manager who will manage the WASH teams towards implementation of WASH projects in Kadugli and El Leri areas of South Kordofan.
Specific Responsibilities
- Contribute to needs assessments, including attention to Protection risks and to provide area specific information and inputs to Core Competency heads; WASH PDM, Head of Programs and Area Manager (AM) South Kordofan (SK) when required
- Responsible for development and follow up of detailed work plans, spending plans, M&E plans for WASH projects in SK Area
- Overall accountable for monitoring and oversight of technical quality of WASH projects and maintain transparency and accountability in implementation, in collaboration and consultation with WASH PDM where relevant
- Support cash-based interventions and market-based approaches in WASH where appropriate
- Overall responsible for quality assurance of NRC GORS WASH M&E data for SK Area
- Responsible for mainstreaming Protection in WASH projects in line with NRC Protection Policy and Guidelines called Safe and Inclusive Programming.
- Contribute with WASH specific inputs to Emergency Preparedness Planning when required
- Contribute to WASH related activities as a part of NRC’s Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) in SK Area
- Seek support and mentoring on technical issues from WASH Program Development Manager (PDM) complying with WASH technical directions to ensure high quality and cost-efficient projects targeting the beneficiaries in most need
- Participate in coordination mechanisms such as WASH sector Working Group, Kadugli and coordinate closely with relevant local authorities and humanitarian actors in SK
- Performance Management [staff review process] of staff reporting to WASH Project Manager SK
- Responsible for a management culture, a working and learning environment in line with NRC’s values and leadership/management framework

Generic professional competencies you should have to perform your duties:
- Experience from a senior level project implementation position in a humanitarian or early recovery context
- Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Technical WASH expertise in rural contexts, including experience with construction of water surface and sanitation systems
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
- Good working English (both written and verbal); fluency in Arabic
Specific skills, knowledge and experience that will enable you to exceed expectations:
- Knowledge of context in the Kordofan Region desirable
- Strong experience in community driven WASH programming
- Strong inter-personal, communication and network skills
