West Bank: Project Coordinator At Internews

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator acts as the primary point of contact for all administrative, logistical, and reporting functions for a three-year media support project in West Bank and Gaza. The Project Coordinator understands media trends and challenges, particularly with digital media, as well as stakeholder and audience engagement in West Bank and Gaza. The Project Coordinator is responsible for carrying out day-to-day oversight duties, including ongoing communication and coordination with project beneficiaries, ensuring high-quality and on-time delivery of project activities, leading all contracting and recruiting for the project, and ensuring continuous coordination of other Internews departments. The Project Coordinator is also expected to escalate issues to the Project Manager and Program Manager as needed.

This role is based in Ramallah.

DAY-TO-DAY TASKS will include:

  • Support day-to-day work plan implementation.
  • Coordinate with project beneficiaries as needed.
  • Attend and/or facilitate project activities.
  • Lead coordination with Internews teams involved in the project as needed.
  • Facilitate and support internal and external reporting, including quarterly, annual, and final reports.
  • Ensure the project is in compliance with all administrative requirements, including Internews and donor regulations.
  • Support in budget oversight and tracking expenditures.
  • Facilitate and support on all Personnel and Outside Service Contracts, procurements, and other contractual requests.
  • Review and process all consultant invoices and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain tracker for all consultant contracts and payments.
  • Follow up and work closely with the project’s Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer on M&E requirements, including providing data on project activities.
  • Provide input and recommendations to impact stories in coordination with the M&E Officer and the Project Manager.
  • Provide Arabic-English (and vice versa) translation, as requested.
  • Administer job functions as required, escalating issues to Project Manager and Program Manager for their input as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Required

  • Minimum three years’ prior relevant work experience.
  • University degree in journalism, political science, social science, or another relevant area OR equivalent lived/professional experience.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English languages (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of media networks and landscape in West Bank and Gaza; expertise in the civil society sector.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project administration and prior administrative experience.
  • Ability to read and draft documentation, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information, verbally and in writing, to other organization employees.
  • Technical proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Proven organizational skills, with good attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to operate in a multicultural and remote work environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and complete tasks on time.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred

Note: Candidates who do not have these preferred qualifications, but who are interested and willing to learn, are encouraged to apply.

  • Prior experience working for an international nonprofit or in the international development sector is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with software programs, or willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with issues related to media literacy, access to information, digital security, and/or audience measurement and analysis a plus
