Summary: Under the overall supervision of the Protection /GBV Specialist and the Line Management of the Project Manager, the Women and Girls Club Facilitator will support Un Ponte Per (UPP) Jordan’s Protection team with focus on delivering GBV Prevention and Women and Girls Empowerment activities in Amman, Irbid and Zarqa, within the framework of a project funded by the Italian Cooperation Agency (AICS): “Masahat Aamina II (Safe spaces): Protected spaces for social inclusion and integrated protection of particularly vulnerable people among refugees and host communities in Jordan”.

The WG Facilitator will be responsible in general for provision of psychosocial support and facilitate group activities in UPP’s Women and Girls Conversation Club and other safe spaces related activities, conducting the assessments, collecting feedback monitoring the impact of activities and providing referral servicesFlexibility and openness to undertake other tasks will be required.

Main responsibilities:

  • Supporting assessments of community members and partner needs, support setting up the activity including consultations and FGDs with women and girls;
  • Assist the Protection team in devising the new WGs Curriculum informing on practical and field considerations and assisting the flow of the curriculum delivery by the Gender & Reproductive Health Expert and the Information, Technology, and Communication (ITC) Expert;
  • Supporting partner outreach efforts and ensuring meaningful access to promote inclusion and diversity specifically for women and girls;
  • Support planning and prepare monthly schedules for the activities.
  • Support implementing UPP curricula and facilitating group activities ensuring they are inclusive and tailored to context, age, and vulnerability.
  • Monitoring/following up on the UPP direct implementation activities in partner premises.
  • Support in developing Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) material.
  • Assisting in the procurement planning for the activities and ensuring to request any material needed for the activities ahead of time.
  • Support referral mapping update efforts and coordination with local service providers and stakeholders.
  • Refer GBV and CP cases through the designated referral pathway, ensuring the confidentiality of the cases with support of the UPP Referral Officer.
  • Maintain good relationships with partners, stakeholders, and CBOs.
  • Support set-up and regular update of database, ensuring it is consistently updated.
  • Submit progress and/or activities reports on a bi-weekly basis to the UPP Protection /GBV Specialist.
  • Participate effectively in meetings with the project staff.
  • Maintain regular and clear communication pathways with the project staff in Amman.
  • Updating relevant project staff on any risks and challenges in the field and to provide input based on observations.
  • Work closely with the partner, local staff, and project staff to ensure proper coordination.
  • Any other duties if required

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Higher education in Social Work, Psychology, Education or any related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, preferably in Protection and/or GBV / Women Protection and Empowerment.
  • Excellent interactive training and facilitation skills.
  • Good communication skills including ability to gain trust and build relationships with new communities.
  • Demonstrated competencies and soft skills in gender justice and survivor-centered approaches.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word.
  • Proficient in Arabic with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and good proficiency in English.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to contextual challenges.
