Zonal Roving Safety and Security Manager – Greater Darfur At Save the Children

The Opportunity

To provide expert safety and security services to Save the Children International Sudan field operations in Greater Darfur, ensuring that all staff are equipped to deliver programmes safely and securely and programs and facilities are designed and or assessed to ensure safety and security of staff and assets. The incumbent will be responsible for providing substantive and technical safety and security expertise in the area of programme management, implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation in conformity with Save the Children International rules and regulation, and policies for the implementation of the Greater Darfur Programmes. S/he will work in close cooperation with the Country Safety and Security Manager whom s/he will technically report to.

In order to be successful, you will bring/have:

Essential

  • BA in social sciences, international relations, business management, or any other relevant field experience.
  • Solid experience in safety and security measures in a conflict/post conflict environment, awareness about Greater Darfur regarding security, culture, tribal conflict and economy context is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to build staff capacity in safety and security measures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to follow procedures, work independently and cooperatively with team members is required, particularly under high stress and sometimes-insecure conditions.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Contract duration: 1-year renewable
