Overview of Role:
Support in the implementation of MEAL activities, according to MEAL Officer indications, and conduct MEAL surveys and monitoring exercises in line with the MEAL plans, ensuring accountability and efficiency of the established data collection tools and of the related findings and results.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct monitoring activities (household surveys, focus group discussions, key informant interviews, etc.) as per the MEAL plan, and process related data using the established data management tools.
- Translate the monitoring tools and upload the data to the DB
- Support the MEAL Officer on the creation and maintenance of the project DB
- Participate in improving monitoring tools, sharing recommendations with the line manager
- Perform regular field visits to check on MEAL-related activities and tools, in coordination with the MEAL Officer and supporting the Accountability staff
- Support the Accountability staff in raising awareness and sharing information about the Complaints and Feedback Response Mechanisms available in the field locations. If needed, ensure proper referral of complaints received as per the Mission’s CFRM SoP
- Support the Accountability staff in informing the affected population about available mechanisms for feedback and complaints.
- Participate in the organisation of training and learning workshops for the program team on the MEAL sector.
- Support the MEAL Officer in drafting regular reports on the progress of activities, data and monitoring surveys.
- Support the MEAL Officer in the training of enumerators and in the organisation of related activities.
- Perform any other tasks requested by the direct supervisor.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Statistics, Information Management, Social Science, Demography, Social Studies or any related field
- At least two (2) years of previous experience in a relevant position
- Desirable knowledge of monitoring and evaluation of Nutrition, protection and Food Assistance projects in the humanitarian context
- English and Hausa
- Essential computer literacy
- Experience in data collection and data management
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Time management skills and resourcefulness with attention to detail
