Evidence and Learning Intern ((GMT+5 to GMT+10)) At Save the Children

The Opportunity

Save the Children International works in more than 120 countries worldwide including 20 countries in Asia to improve the lives of children through better education, health care, protection from violence, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in times of disaster and conflicts.

Programe Quality, Evidence and Impact (PQEI) is a core function in all Save the Children International programmes globally, representing our commitment to accountability and transparency, and is crucial aspect of quality programme management within Save the Children. The Research and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team sits within the PQEI team.

As a member of the Asia Regional Office PQEI team, the intern will support the team with evidence and learning related work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the team in conducting quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis, and assist in drafting analysis reports
  • Support the team in analysing learning country self-assessment and support in identifying common support needs in Asia Pacific Countries
  • Assist the team in reviewing country learning agendas and support in identifying emerging trends in the region in line with Country Strategy Plans
  • Assist Country Offices with desk review of secondary data to identify knowledge gaps and evidence gaps on priority issues
  • Map Country Strategic Plan strategic goals and milestones across Asia Country Offices in a Theory of Change
  • Assist the team in identify innovative data collection techniques and tools, such as tools to gather data quickly in humanitarian settings, facilitate language translation, access hard to reach areas and populations.
  • Other MEAL related tasks in-line with the Intern’s interests and learning needs.
