ABOUT BAHAR:
Bahar Organization is an independent non-profit and non-governmental organization that provides humanitarian aids to vulnerable people without any discrimination in all its forms. BO is operating to respond to the needs and basic requirements of the humanitarian crisis in Syria in the middle of the affected communities caused by the conflict the basic principles of BO’s activities are to enhance the basic living standards to the affected population by delivering humanitarian aid based on the needs.
PURPOSE:
The Social Cohesion Program Advisor consultant will advise on social cohesion project development & quality of implementation and will be working on reviewing reports, proposals, and projects’ products.
LOCATION:
Gaziantep, Turkey, or working remotely.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise on social cohesion project development & quality of implementation
• Provide technical advice and support Social Cohesion Program Coordinator, Officers, and Assistants as needed on projects implementation.
• Enhance social cohesion program quality implementation through mentorship to the team.
• Provide quality inputs for projects proposals development.
• Advise on operational level to guide projects implementation, this includes methodologies, analysis, structures, and related aspects.
Reviewing Reports, Proposals, and projects’ products:**
• Keep abreast of all developments in the activity to revise and prepare appropriate activities reports.
• Review and check the quality of monthly, quarterly, and final projects’ reports for English language, substantive content, and cohesion.
• Strengthen coordination and communications with donors by participating in donors meetings.
DELIVERABLES
- Bi-weekly update and planning meeting with Social Cohesion Program team.
- Proofread and revised reports, proposals, and concept notes.
- Effective participation in sector-related meetings with current and potential partners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
• Bachelor’s degree in social science, peacebuilding, political science or any relevant areas. A master’s degree is a plus.
• 5 years’ experience in implementing and/ or evaluating social cohesion and peacebuilding projects.
• Native English language speaker or has a proven advanced English language writing and speaking skill.
Preferred:
• Effective planning.
• Leadership and dispute resolution.
• Presentation and debate skills.
• Negotiation skills.
• Good understanding of donor rules and regulations and implementation of strong compliance and control framework.
• Strong experience liaising with governmental/local authorities and NGOs.
• Proven strong budgetary control and financial management skills.
• Excellent staff management and personnel skills.
• Prior experience in complex protracted humanitarian context as well as emergency response contexts
