Project Assistant (Intake Assistant) At Orange

General Description of the Organization:

Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of the conflict-affected population.

Since its establishment in 2016, Orange partners directly with affected Syrian populations delivering programmes spanning sectors, including humanitarian and development programmes, in the Early Recovery, Food Security, Agriculture, Livelihoods, Education, and Protection, in addition to long-term impact interventions focusing on the economic empowerment and the local value chains improvements to enable targeted communities to improve their living practices and their sustainable mechanisms.

Orange collaborates with a variety of national and international non-governmental organizations, as well as local initiatives, to adopt a community-based approach that leads to improving the response’s impact to the humanitarian crisis, and provides sustainable and alternative solutions.

Job Purpose:

The intake assistant works under the supervision of the livelihoods project officer and is mainly responsible for the reception collection of initial data and conducting of intake assessment with beneficiaries.

Duties, objectives and competencies:

Counseling and Follow-Up (70%)

  • Reach out to beneficiaries to invite them to participate in training and other livelihood activities.
  • Conduct intake assessment for beneficiaries who are interested in self-employment track (start-up, home-based businesses) or wage employment.
  • Correctly and consistently use intake and other tools provided and provide feedback to supervisors on their effectiveness.
  • Maintain up-to-date contact information for beneficiaries and follow up with them after they receive training or other support, answering their questions and responding to their concerns.
  • Conduct the follow-up survey with the beneficiaries who received the productive asset support grant.

General Programming and Operations (30%)

  • At all times be aware of, note, and report to the supervisor the changing needs of target populations (Syrians and vulnerable host community members)
  • Engage in outreach activities related to the project (with community members, local NGOs, and private sector contacts)
  • Identify and discuss with supervisor/team new approaches related to entrepreneurship to ensure a flexible and relevant implementation based on the needs of beneficiaries
  • Identify and discuss with supervisor/team the need for relevant assessments and focus group discussions to improve programming

Additional Duties:

  • Complete any additional tasks identified by Supervisor
  • Incorporate technical feedback provided by the Funding Partner to ensure quality counselling

Requirements:

  • Business administration, Economics, Educational Sciences or relevant field of study.
  • At least 1 years proven work experience in the field of business training and capacity development.
  • Strong communication skills, negotiation skills & emotional stability.
  • Good reporting skills;
  • Good computer skills including MS office.
  • Fluency in Arabic and good English language skills (spoken, written and reading), the Turkish language will be an asset.
