STOOS Consulting is a professional research and consultancy firm delivering high-quality evaluations, assessments, capacity development, and advisory services across the Middle East and Africa. We work extensively in fragile and conflict-affected settings, including Syria, where we support humanitarian and development actors through evidence-based programming and tailored technical training. Our core areas include Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), organizational development, protection and gender mainstreaming, peacebuilding, livelihoods, and climate resilience.
As part of our growing portfolio in Syria, STOOS is recruiting qualified Arabic-speaking trainers with proven ability to design and deliver context-sensitive, field-based trainings across a range of technical and operational areas. Trainers should be able to conduct in-person training within Syria and must have experience managing projects in their area of expertise.
Role Description
Trainers will be engaged on a short-term or assignment basis and will be responsible for:
- Designing customized training modules using adult learning methodologies.
- Delivering in-person trainings within Syria to diverse groups, including local NGOs, CBOs, and service providers.
- Facilitating interactive sessions using participatory approaches, case studies, and group work.
- Conducting pre- and post-training assessments to track learning outcomes.
- Preparing training reports summarizing content, attendance, participant feedback, and recommendations.
- Ensuring that training materials are culturally and contextually relevant to Syria, including consideration of access constraints, conflict sensitivities, and language.

- Resilience, Livelihoods, and Economic Empowerment
Candidates with experience in multi-thematic or cross-sectoral training, as well as those able to train in low-literacy or conflict-sensitive settings, are especially encouraged to apply.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in adult training, facilitation, or capacity development, ideally in humanitarian or development projects in Syria.
- Proven track record of implementing or managing projects in the same thematic areas for which training is offered.
- Advanced degree or professional certification in a related field (e.g., M&E, finance, gender studies, public health, etc.) is preferred.
- Fluency in Arabic is required; working proficiency in English is important for documentation and coordination.
- Availability and ability to travel within Syria to facilitate on-site trainings, with strong understanding of local context and security protocols.
