Doctor (National Contract) At Doctors Without Borders

Diploma/Degree in Medicine. Training/Certification in Tropical Medicine is desirable.
Experience: Essential: Experience in tropical medicine or post-registration experience in public health,
obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, primary care, infectious diseases,
general medicine, or minor surgery.
Desirable: Previous experience with MSF or other humanitarian organizations

Apply medical knowledge and skills for diagnosis and prevention. Conduct outpatient
and inpatient consultations, prescribing the necessary treatment in accordance with MSF protocols.
• Keep patients and their families informed about the disease and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment
to be followed, verifying that they have understood.
• Monitor the progress of hospitalized patients/PWIs through daily visits, consultations, and examinations.
Prescribe the necessary treatment in accordance with MSF protocols, deciding in collaboration with other doctors whether
patients should be discharged or transferred to other departments, and informing their families about the
patient’s progress.
• Verify and control, under their responsibility, the rational distribution of medicines and equipment, and ensure the quality,
disinfection, and sterilization of medical supplies. Ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
• Identify survivors of sexual violence .
• Ensure comprehensive care for patients who are survivors of sexual violence and victims of other situations of
violence (OSV) in coordination with the multidisciplinary team. Perform physical examinations and prescribe
pharmacological treatment. Complete medical and legal records.
• Provide comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care, including implant placement and management of
first-trimester pregnancy terminations using medication.
• Ensure access to and administration of PrEP based on pre-established criteria.
• Make referrals to social work or mental health services based on established criteria.
• Collaborate with nursing staff in the preparation and maintenance of medications and supplies necessary for
patient care, as well as in pharmacy analysis and ordering from the central pharmacy.
• In-house training, including conducting and presenting medical sessions to the team. Train MSF and/or MINSA staff members
whenever necessary to ensure the quality of medical care.
