Job Title: Legal Field Advisor
Location: Damascus / Latakia / Deir ez-Zor – 3 Positions
Reports to: Projects Coordinator
Position Purpose
The Legal Field Advisor provides strategic guidance and technical oversight to legal aid services in the center, ensuring alignment with Syrian law, protection standards, and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Legal Assistants and oversee legal counseling services.
- Provide expertise in documentation, family law, housing/land/property, and civil rights.
- Conduct legal awareness sessions for communities.
- Maintain updated knowledge of Syrian legal frameworks and procedures.
- Build partnerships with bar associations, courts, and local legal actors.
- Support reporting and lessons learned for donor compliance.
Qualifications
- University degree in Law; license to practice in Syria preferred.
- At least 5 years’ legal experience, including 2 years in supervisory roles.
- Deep knowledge of Syrian civil and family law.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Arabic required.
