Accounting Agent At International Bureau for Children’s Rights

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Finance and Administration Department (FAD), the Accounting Officer ensures the entry and accounting monitoring of projects managed in Canada as well as head office expenses. In collaboration with the Financial Data Coordinator, he or she helps ensure the accuracy and reliability of basic accounting records.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Without limiting the generality of the foregoing and without excluding other mandates that may be assigned to him/her from time to time by the Finance and Administration Department, the person in this position will be responsible for:
Accounting
• Recording all financial transactions in real time of accounting documents related to Canada projects and headquarters (invoices, expense reports, advances, payments) in Microsoft GP Dynamics;
• Recording general period-end entries;
• Ensuring that all supporting documents related to project monitoring and headquarters expenses assigned to him/her are obtained;
• Ensuring the compliance of supporting documents and their timely recording in the accounting system.
• Performing bank and credit card account reconciliations related to headquarters;
• Classifying and archiving headquarters supporting documents in accordance with established procedures.
• Ensuring compliance with the company’s accounting standards and administrative procedures;

Audit Component
• Provide occasional support in the preparation of audits relating to headquarters or Canadian projects;
• Assist the senior manager or executive in planning audit missions; General • Support in documenting work procedures to develop training documents; • Assist the finance department in the administrative management of the office.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• College diploma (DEC) in accounting or equivalent training.
• Minimum of three years of professional experience in similar positions
• Proficiency in EXCEL (macro, pivot table)
• Knowledge of Microsoft GP Dynamics
• Sense of responsibility. Analytical skills. Initiative. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Demonstrate rigor, method and the ability to manage large volumes of data.
• Excellent command of French, both written and spoken
• Ability to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
• The person must have the status allowing them to work in Canada.

Assets
• Experience in the international development sector or other equivalent sector
• Knowledge of English and/or Spanish
