DEPARTMENT PURPOSE:

Achieving systemic change and impact using Oxfam’s presence at every level from local, to regional, to global, aligned with the vision of the global strategic framework: influencing and engaging audience around the world– through action and by generating financial support – to fight inequality to end poverty and injustice.

TEAM PURPOSE:

Leads the co-creation, organization and delivery of confederation-wide communications and digital engagement strategies and approaches that drive digital transformation, inspire and engage internal and external audiences for systemic change, and that support Oxfam’s campaigns, humanitarian responses, program work and build and protect the brand.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Brand, Content & Audience Manager will lead the development and delivery of impactful digital-first brand and content strategies that strengthen Oxfam’s global identity, increase engagement and inspire people to join Oxfam’s mission to fight inequality to end poverty and injustice. This role will maximize Oxfam’s ability to acquire, convert and retain supporters by working across Oxfam to ensure creation of meaningful multimedia content and strengthening brand visibility, understanding and affection across all key markets. With a digital-first approach, the role will embed Oxfam’s global brand framework across all communications, campaigns and fundraising efforts ensuring consistency, creativity and impact in how we connect with and grow our global movement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy Development and Implementation

  • Lead the development and implementation of a digital-first global content strategy that supports campaigns, humanitarian emergencies, supporter acquisition, conversion and retention across markets.
  • Develop, maintain and promote Oxfam’s global brand strategy and guidelines, ensuring alignment across all public engagement activities.
  • Implement Oxfam’s brand story and visual identity consistently across campaigns, communications, and public fundraising.
  • Develop and manage a best-practice framework for digital-first brand engagement and asset optimization.

2. Content Planning, Production and Coordination

  • Working in collaboration with the campaigns, humanitarian and fundraising team, coordinate and lead content strategies, creative concepts and content gathering plans
  • Work with others to coordinate content production and distribution across global digital channels, including websites, social media, and campaign platforms.
  • Serve as the first point of contact and coordinator for multi-affiliate content needs, including rapid response in emergencies. Maintain a content generation and management calendar and facilitate collaboration across affiliates; promote content best practices that drive supporter engagement, increase income, and reduce transactional costs.

3. Brand Engagement and Capacity Building

  • Support Oxfam affiliates—particularly in the Global South—in developing and implementing national brand strategies aligned with the global Oxfam brand.
  • Provide capacity building, training, and induction on brand and content standards to strengthen brand culture and storytelling capabilities.
  • Develop and promote a global brand hub and organize ongoing brand training initiatives.

4. Audience Insights and Research

  • Coordinate international audience research to inform public campaigns, communications, and fundraising strategies.
  • Develop and maintain a hub for sharing audience insights and global trends across the confederation.
  • Provide strategic, insight-driven advice on brand positioning and public engagement to senior leadership.
  • Build and maintain a network of research experts and preferred research agencies.

5. Governance and Risk Management

  • Lead the implementation and socialization of Global Content Standards, including regarding safeguarding and child protection.
  • Identify and manage content-related risks, including regarding trademarks and licensing, and ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and brand protection standards.
  • Lead, manage and contribute to Oxfam International’s Annual and Trustee Reports.
  • Manage Oxfam’s global trademarks and brand assets (e.g., logos, fonts, templates).

6. Monitoring and Reporting

  • Develop and implement a system for tracking and reporting on brand performance indicators to inform strategic decision-making.

7. Internal Collaboration and Representation

  • Coordinate and support the global Content Group and represent it in relevant global forums.
  • Actively collaborate across the Oxfam International Influencing and Engagement team and Oxfam as a whole, contributing to cross-functional collaboration and strategic planning.
