Interpeace
Interpeace is an international peacebuilding organization headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. Its goal is to strengthen the capacity of societies to manage conflict nonviolently and noncoercively by assisting national actors in their efforts to develop social and political cohesion. Interpeace also strives to help the international community (and particularly the UN) play a more effective role in supporting peacebuilding efforts worldwide by better understanding and addressing the challenges of building local capacities that strengthen social and political cohesion.
For its program in the DRC, since 2013, Interpeace, in partnership with six national organizations from Burundi, the DRC and Rwanda, has been implementing a regional program of cross-border dialogue for peace in the Great Lakes region. Since 2018, Interpeace has embarked on a global strategy to increase its engagement in the DRC, through a concentration in the country’s risk areas, through various projects in the provinces of North Kivu, South Kivu, Mai-ndombé, Kasai and Kasai Central, Ituri, and Kinshasa.
