This is a 6-month assignment in Dakar, Senegal.
The mandate stems from the Equality in Action Volunteer Cooperation Programme (VCP), which operates in approximately ten countries across Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East over an eight-year period (2020-2028). The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in inclusive, innovative, and sustainable initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam’s role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, in claiming and exercising their rights. Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of everything it does.
Here’s what your daily life will look like:
Working closely with members of the Oxfam team in Senegal and the Women’s Committee of the Senegalese Federation of Associations of People with Disabilities, your mandate will consist of:
- Provide technical support and guidance to improve the team’s monitoring, evaluation, learning and accountability systems.
- Support the development of a SEAR manual and contribute to the evaluation of ongoing projects.
- Define relevant qualitative and quantitative indicators that are sensitive to gender and people with disabilities.
- Contribute to the development of data collection methodologies and indicator monitoring plans throughout the project lifecycle.
- Train partner staff in the use of data collection tools and promote spaces for reflection, analysis and evaluation of projects.
For this mandate you must:
- To have Canadian citizenship or permanent residence in Canada;
- Hold a university degree in project management, international development, program evaluation or any other relevant field;
- Possess experience in SEAR, data analysis, or any other related field;
- Experience in facilitating training workshops, capacity building for partners and in designing/adapting training tools in monitoring, evaluation and learning;
- Proficiency in spoken and written French, local language an asset;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Skype, Teams and Zoom;
- Experience in international development (an asset)
