Background/Context:
The center has been working in Syria since 2012, providing protection, health, economic recovery, and early childhood development programs in Idlib, Aleppo, Raqqa, Hasakah, and Deir ez-Zor, with new programs expanding to Hama, Damascus, and Homs. With a team of over 750 members, the committee has built strong trust and community relationships, ensuring effective access and service delivery. It plays a vital role in NGO and donor forums and coordination efforts in Syria, holding key positions and adapting to the evolving context.
With the new reality under the new government, until December 2024, the center deployed a team to Damascus to establish operations and participate in coordination structures for new areas in Syria — including parts of the NES, the nuclear weapons system, and other sites that were not previously accessible in southern and central Syria, while modifying operations to maximize coverage and efficiency.
Job overview:
- Developing a routine to ensure that all IRC office areas and guest houses are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning the office and guest house during working hours.
- Serving drinks to IRC guests.
- Empty and clean the trash cans in all rooms while maintaining the tidiness of the offices.
- Cleaning bathrooms and sinks.
- Wash and disinfect the floors in the rooms, corridors, kitchen, and bathroom periodically in the office and guest house.
- Dust as needed.
- Inform the supervisor of the missing materials before completion, check the cleaning materials, and send the request to the supervisor.
- Securely lock or unlock the building if necessary.
- Change the bed linens and pillows in guest houses and wash them thoroughly.
- Cleaning and washing blankets and covers in guest houses.
- Cleaning and tidying guesthouses.
• Kitchens should be isolated weekly in both the office and guest houses.
- Clean the balconies and windows daily.
• Any additional tasks requested by the supervisor
Job requirements:
Education: A secondary education certificate is preferred.
Practical experience:
- At least one year of progressively responsible professional experience in NGOs or international NGOs
Proven skills and competencies:
- Good communication skills.
- Honesty and reliability
- Speed ​​and efficiency in work, with a focus on details.
- Ability to follow instructions
Language/Travel:
• Arabic is required, while English would be an added advantage.
