Role

NRC aims to significantly increase its investment in staff learning as a core pillar of its strategic enabler 5 “To value and build our people” in the 2022-2025 global strategy. This position is set to make a key contribution to this enabler for staff working in Head Office and Representation Offices; we rely on the L&D Specialist Advisor to identify learning-, culture- and competence gaps and to offer relevant learning solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that investment in staff learning initiatives is driven by learning gaps identified and campaigns that support the adoption of ways of working that have been agreed
  • Promote in a timely manner all staff learning activities that are available to staff
  • Deliver learning solutions and programmes in coordination with Head Office HR counterparts and with the Global L&D Unit
  • Manage partnerships with external providers and other units/ sections that can optimise Head Office staff learning opportunities (L&D Global, Risk & Compliance Section, SPD, HSS Training Unit)
  • Evaluate the impact of learning activities, report and capitalise on lessons learnt
  • Produce job aids where needed in connection with learning activities
  • Provide advice and consultancy to the organisers of the Head Office/ rep Offices Managers Forum when it comes to designing learning activities
  • Uphold in all L&D activities and practices principles formulated in the HR and the L&D policies

What you will bring

  • Relevant experience of creating and evaluating L&D activities
  • General HR knowledge of the international humanitarian sector
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – listening and interviewing skills
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral
  • Good knowledge of organisational development and change processes
  • Experience of methods of enquiry such as conducting semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions and surveys
  • Interest in making use of artificial intelligence and digital learning in staff capability-building strategies
