The Role

DevelopmentPeople is seeking an International Recruiter to support the delivery and growth of our recruitment and HR services across the international development sector.

This is a full-cycle, client-facing, and commercially oriented role. The successful candidate will manage recruitment assignments from intake to placement, build client relationships, contribute to account growth, and support the sale of our recruitment and HR consultancy services.

The role requires someone who can combine strong hands-on recruitment delivery with sound judgment, client management skills, and commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Recruitment Delivery

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment processes from client briefing through to candidate placement.
  • Lead sourcing, screening, assessment, shortlisting, interview coordination, offer management, and follow-up.
  • Recruit for a range of positions across the international development sector, including batch recruitment under framework contracts.
  • Identify and engage qualified candidates through targeted search, databases, LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, and direct outreach.
  • Conduct structured interviews and candidate assessments.
  • Prepare clear, well-written, and client-ready candidate submissions.
  • Tailor candidate CVs and profiles to align with specific role requirements and client expectations.
  • Conduct reference checks and ensure proper documentation of the recruitment process.

2. Client and Account Management

  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Lead intake discussions with clients to clarify role requirements, profile expectations, timelines, and delivery strategy.
  • Maintain regular and professional communication with clients throughout the recruitment cycle.
  • Ensure strong service quality, responsiveness, and follow-through across all assignments.
  • Build and maintain trusted working relationships with clients.
  • Support client retention through consistent delivery and proactive account management.

3. Commercial Contribution

  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships into additional recruitment assignments.
  • Support the promotion and sale of DevelopmentPeople’s recruitment and HR consultancy services.
  • Recognize client needs beyond the immediate vacancy and help position additional services where relevant.
  • Lead commercial discussions, client follow-up, and service positioning in coordination with management.

4. Quality, Reporting, and Process Discipline

  • Ensure all recruitment outputs are accurate, timely, and of a high professional standard.
  • Maintain proper records, trackers, and reporting within internal systems.
  • Monitor progress across assignments and flag risks, delays, or bottlenecks in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of templates, workflows, and recruitment practices.
  • Work closely with management and colleagues to maintain a high-performing and collaborative team environment.

Candidate Profile

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or executive search.
  • Proven experience managing recruitment processes end-to-end.
  • Demonstrated exposure to client-facing work and commercial responsibility.
  • Experience working across multiple assignments and managing competing deadlines.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience recruiting within the international development sector, international organizations, NGOs, consultancies, or related environments is a strong advantage.
  • Experience working under framework agreements, retained search assignments, or multi-role recruitment projects is an advantage.
  • Exposure to HR advisory, workforce planning, or related consultancy services is an advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong recruitment delivery skills, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and candidate assessment.
  • Strong account management and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to support service growth.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to write clear, polished, and client-ready candidate presentations and communications.
  • Good judgment, attention to detail, and ability to represent the company professionally with clients and candidates.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage several live processes at the same time.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working in a remote international environment.

Technical Requirements

  • Good working knowledge of ATS/CRM systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, sourcing tools, and standard office software.
  • Ability to work in a structured, data-driven, and process-oriented way.
  • Language Requirements: Full professional fluency in English is required. Additional languages are an asset.

Location and Working Conditions

  • Fully remote position.
  • Candidates must be based in the GMT+1 to GMT+4 time zones.
  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday.
  • Working hours are flexible but must support collaboration with clients and colleagues.
