Founded in 2008, Convergences is a multi-stakeholder platform for reflection, mobilisation and advocacy that promotes a just transition by fostering reflection, action and the co-creation of innovative, high-impact partnerships.

Paris headquarters coordinates global interventions and facilitates the animation and development of a global ecosystem of stakeholders committed to the 3ZERO vision, notably through Convergences and the 3ZERO House activities.

Convergences was co-founded by Acted. For over 30 years, Acted has been working alongside the most vulnerable communities to respond to humanitarian, environmental and development crises. Operating in over 40 countries, the organisation pursues a three-pronged mandate covering humanitarian, environmental and development work, and champions the vision of a 3ZERO world: Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon, Zero Poverty.

Acted ACTED – Convergences

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Officer in Charge of International Development is responsible for driving the expansion, structuring, and implementation of Convergences’ international activities, with a strong focus on international forums, partnerships, and fundraising.

The Officer will ensure the coherence, quality, and impact of Convergences’ international initiatives, working closely with headquarters teams, Acted country teams, and external partners.

Depending on field teams’ capacities and bandwidth, the Officer in Charge adjusts the level of support provided, ranging from more hands-on implementation oversight to progress follow-up and knowledge harvesting.

This is a high-responsibility position equivalent to a managerial level, requiring full ownership of projects and a strong capacity to operate independently in complex and evolving environments.

The position is HQ-based requiring close collaboration with Acted’s global network and teams, as well as international multi-stakeholder ecosystems (NGOs, public sector, private sector, academia). It includes frequent interaction with high-level partners and speakers. Regular travel may be required.

You will be in charge of

  1. International Development & Opportunity Identification
  • Proactively identify and assess opportunities for Convergences’ strategic international expansion (geographies, themes, partnerships, funding streams)
  • Monitor calls for proposals and funding opportunities in coordination with relevant stakeholders
  • Lead the development of concept notes and project proposals
  • Conduct ecosystem analyses (institutional, private sector, civil society, academia) in target countries
  • Identify, engage, and nurture strategic multi-stakeholder partnerships (donors, institutions, private sector, NGOs, academia)
  • Ensure alignment between partnerships, programmatic priorities, and event development
  1. Grant management
  • Lead or support donor engagement, negotiations, reporting and relationship management
  • Report regularly on project activities, challenges and indicators
  • Contribute to drafting (external) project progress reports, ensuring the quality and accuracy of information provided
  1. Coordination of International Forums
  • Lead the end-to-end design and coordination of Convergences international forums depending on field teams needs
  • Define themes, formats, and programming in collaboration with local and global stakeholders
  • Facilitate quality co-construction processes with local ecosystems (working groups, consultations, calls for contributions)
  • Coordinate speakers, high-level participants, and moderators
  • Ensure strong articulation with Convergences’ global positioning and programming
  1. Operational, Financial & Logistical Oversight
  • Oversee the planning and timely implementation of events (venues, suppliers, registration systems, logistics)
  • Ensure budget forecasting and tracking, expenses documentation per standard processes, and financial oversight of projects
  • Ensure balance budgets for all international events
  • Provide hands-on support to local teams when required
  1. Communication & Visibility
  • Coordinate communication strategies for international forums
  • Ensure consistency of messaging and branding across countries
  • Produce communication outputs (content, reports, articles, photos, press releases, newsletters, visibility materials)
  • Lead post-event communication and dissemination (reports, insights, media engagement)
  • Manage social media (LinkedIn) posting and website updates
  • Contribute to the preparation of institutional materials (presentations, memos, talking points, summary sheets, annual reports, brochures, leaflets, kakemonos, etc.)
  1. Impact, Capitalization & Scaling
  • Design and implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for international activities
  • Capitalize on learnings and best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Develop tools for standardization and replication of Convergences forums internationally (toolkits, guidelines)
  1. Strategic Contribution
  • Contribute actively to Convergences’ overall strategy, particularly its international positioning
  • Generate innovative ideas for new formats, geographies, and partnerships
  • Support the development of new initiatives (e.g. 3ZERO ecosystem, thematic platforms, international alliances)

Any other tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.

• Experience in fundraising, proposal development, and donor engagement
• Excellent understanding of global development, sustainability, and multi-actor dialogue dynamics
• Excellent writing and summarising skills in French and English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
• Proficiency in digital and communication tools (social media, web publishing such as WordPress, and basic graphic/video editing tools including Adobe Suite)
• Master’s degree in political science, international relations, communication, project management, sustainable development, social and solidarity economy, or equivalent
• Strong interest in climate, social, and sustainable development issues, and international cooperation
• Ability to take initiative while knowing when to seek clarification

Conditions

  • Salary defined by the Acted salary grid depending on education level and experience (between 2200€ and 2400€ net per month)
  • Medical insurance, food vouchers (“tickets restaurant”) when in HQ
  • 50% coverage of Paris transportation costs
