Foundation Partnerships Manager At Welthungerhilfe

The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date on a part-time basis (50%) and is initially limited until 30.09.2027 as a parental leave replacement. You can be based in Bonn or Berlin, Germany, and flexible home office arrangements are possible at any time by agreement.

Our goal is clear: to reach #zerohunger worldwide. To achieve this, we need strong partners and supporters – and foundation partners are becoming increasingly important. As Manager Foundations, you will manage our partnerships with German foundations and establish new contacts to work together in the fight against hunger and poverty. Are you a networker who enjoys managing relationships and building and maintaining partnerships? Then you’ve come to the right place! (If you haven’t worked in the foundation sector before, that’s no problem. By working closely with the team, you will quickly become familiar with the German foundation landscape).

Your responsibilities

As part of a small and dedicated team, you will take responsibility for partnerships with German and international foundations and directly contribute to financing our projects in 36 countries. What makes this role particularly unique is the diversity of people you will engage with. You will advise donors and foundation staff on their engagement and maintain close, regular communication with our colleagues in programme countries—whether for proposal development, project reporting, or planning field visits.

  • You maintain existing relationships with our foundation partners and identify opportunities to deepen collaboration.
  • Together with colleagues worldwide, you develop tailored project proposals for foundations.
  • You represent Welthungerhilfe at conferences, events, and within various networks, building valuable connections with potential new partners.
  • You coordinate the preparation of reports and presentations that make our work transparent and compelling for current and prospective foundations.
  • You ensure that all contractual and administrative processes related to our foundation partnerships run smoothly.

Your profile

  • You hold a university degree or a comparable qualification and have at least 3 years of professional experience in an NGO or in areas such as sales, marketing, or key account management.
  • You are comfortable operating in a variety of contexts and interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, adapting your approach to each situation appropriately.
  • You work independently and proactively, and you enjoy contributing and implementing new ideas.
  • You share our passion for social justice and are motivated to actively contribute to combating hunger and poverty worldwide.
  • You recognize the growing value of data in your field and are eager to build your awareness and skills to incorporate data-informed approaches into your work.
  • You are persuasive in both written and spoken communication and can convey complex topics clearly and engagingly—in English, German is an asset.
