Founded in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights hunger worldwide. Its charter of humanitarian principles—independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, and transparency—has defined its identity for 45 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection, and treatment of undernutrition, particularly during and after emergencies related to conflicts and natural disasters. Action Against Hunger coordinates its programs around seven areas of activity: Nutrition and Health; Mental Health and Psychosocial Support; Food Security and Livelihoods; Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene; Advocacy; Climate; and Research. Mission :
We are looking for an intern capable of providing support through the following tasks:
Research, analysis, and report writing to enrich advocacy strategy.
Contribute to strengthening expertise on issues related to nutrition, gender, social protection, health, and international solidarity financing.
Contribute to research and analysis on: the integration of nutrition, health, and family planning and the links between gender inequalities and hunger; financing mechanisms for health, nutrition, and social protection (ODA, taxation, innovative financing, MFF).
Support the drafting of analytical and synthesis reports (internal and advocacy): thematic research reports to support advocacy strategy; conduct literature reviews, case studies, and comparative analyses; contribute to internal knowledge sharing and to inform the research work of the research units (reports, thematic dossiers).
Strategic monitoring, mapping, and support for institutional advocacy:
Support advocacy activities in French, European, and international contexts.
Conduct political and institutional monitoring on: gender equality, nutrition, health, social protection, and financing of international solidarity (Finance Bill, G7, CSW, AMS, MFF, etc.).
Contribute to updating and analyzing strategic mappings: key actors (institutions, donors, NGOs, coalitions), and priority advocacy spaces.
Support the preparation of advocacy actions: position papers, target profiles (Members of Parliament, Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, French Development Agency, partners), and briefing materials for meetings and events.
Participate in monitoring certain collective spaces: coalitions and working groups.
Operational support, coordination, and internal dynamics:
Support the organization and follow-up of events: roundtables, conferences, and advocacy meetings.
Contribute to internal coordination: support exchanges with other departments, information sharing, and summary reports.
As needed, support country offices: contextual research; Developing strategic materials.
Participating in cross-functional activities of the Advocacy Department (G7, presidential preparations, etc.).
Profile :
We are looking for a candidate who shares our commitment and possesses the following qualities:
You are preparing a Master’s degree in economics and/or political science.
You have a good understanding of European and French institutions.
You have a good level of English, both written and spoken.
You are autonomous and well-organized.
You possess strong writing and analytical skills.
You are proficient in the logistical aspects of event organization and the associated coordination tools.
Employment conditions
Mandatory Condition: Must have a valid internship agreement issued by a French educational institution.
Internship Duration: 6 months (based in Montreuil, 102 rue de Paris).
Desired Contract Start Date: 01/06/2026
Salary Conditions:
Paid internship at €4.57 net per hour (based on a 35-hour week).
Weekly working hours (38.75 hours).
Meal vouchers worth €8 (60% covered by ACF).
50% reimbursement of public transport costs.
