JOB PURPOSE

Supervise clinical activities and ensure the quality of care provided by the service’s midwives
, in accordance with MSF’s universal protocols, values ​​and hygiene standards, in order to
offer quality maternal and child health (MCH) care to the population.

RESPONSABILITES

Supervise clinical activities and ensure the quality of care provided by the midwives in the
department, in accordance with MSF’s protocols, values, and universal hygiene standards, in order to
offer quality maternal and child health (MCH) care to the population.
Supervise, support, and evaluate the team under their responsibility, particularly the midwives, midwifery assistants
, and other team members, such as cleaning staff. Plan and
organize the team’s work (work locations, days, absences, visits, vacations, etc.); guide the team, ensuring
compliance with all appropriate protocols and procedures.
• Ensure teamwork and positive professional relationships between the maternity ward and other departments.
• Supervise the clinical aspects of all maternity departments and activities such as prenatal consultations, childbirth and postpartum care, postnatal consultations, family planning consultations, newborn
vaccinations , and liaise with the physician for patients requiring specific care schedules, visiting hours, etc. â€¢ Ensure that the service team is aware of, applies, and consistently adheres to universal hygiene standards/precautions, biological risk prevention, and infection control within the medical facilities, in order to guarantee a work environment that meets the highest hygiene standards. â€¢ Ensure that all staff using medical devices/instruments are qualified and trained, and that cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are carried out according to standards; report any malfunctions to the project’s biomedical department. â€¢ Manage pharmacy activities related to the department (stock and consumption monitoring) as well as the maintenance of medical equipment. â€¢ Manage and oversee all administrative procedures, accurately complete patient files and data, and record them in order to produce monthly activity reports for the department . • In certain contexts, ensure that maternity staff are able to identify, receive, and treat victims of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), in collaboration with obstetricians and gynecologists and in accordance with protocols.
















• Under the supervision of the MSF Sexual and Reproductive Health Activities Manager in Artibonite, collaborate
with the multidisciplinary teams of MSF and MSPP (Ministry of Public Health and Population) in providing clinical care related to sexual and
reproductive health to the population accessing these services at MSF mobile clinics in the
Artibonite region.
• You will provide antenatal care (ANC) and prenatal care (PNC), family planning, and GBV (Gender-Based Violence) services according to MSF protocols and
established procedures.
• You will work closely with doctors, psychologists, and social workers to ensure
holistic care for patients, particularly survivors of sexual violence.

Identify obstetric emergencies requiring referral to a health facility. Collaborate with the rest
of the clinic team to stabilize the patient and then refer her according to the established pathway.
• Collaborate with the health promotion team to promote MSF services and disseminate
key messages on sexual and reproductive health to target communities to identify cases within the
community.
• Guarantee patient confidentiality during all consultations. Pay particular attention to the quality
of care and patient safety, always respecting MSF standards and protocols.
• Accurately and comprehensively complete MSF records of all activities carried out by the midwife at the
clinic. Analyze trends with the sexual and reproductive health activities manager.
• Participate in regular multidisciplinary meetings as required (case discussions, team meetings, etc.
).
• Collaborate with the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) care manager to train and raise
awareness among the rest of the multidisciplinary team (MSF and MSPP) on issues related to SRH and
gender-based violence (GBV).
• Promote and implement protocols and procedures related to infection prevention and control within
sexual and reproductive health services.

SKILLS:
Education: Midwifery diploma required (or any diploma recognized in the country or by the Ministry of Health
authorizing the practice of this profession).
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience and experience in team supervision is desirable.
Languages: Creole and French required.
Knowledge: Basic computer skills required (Word, Excel, and Internet).
