RESPONSABILITES
Provide psychological support to patients, in accordance with MSF principles, standards, and procedures, to improve their mental health.
• Conduct mental health needs assessments, establish a diagnosis and treatment plan, inform families of the potential consequences of the illness and the required medication, and refer patients to other professionals when necessary to provide the most effective treatment to improve their health.
• Implement the protocol for the care of victims of sexual violence (SVV), identify SVV victims, and refer them to the medical team for necessary treatment.

Provide psychological support and psychotherapy sessions (individual, family, and group), in accordance with MSF protocols, to improve patients’ mental health.
• Assist and train staff members and, if necessary, other stakeholders to expand the scope of mental health activities. Work closely with translators to determine the appropriate vocabulary and approach during sessions.
• Collect statistics and monitor data related to mental health activities.
• Inform their supervisor and the medical team of any questions or problems that may arise in connection with treatment, in order to provide the best medical solution.
• Guarantee the confidentiality of all patient information.
• Provide direct psychological assistance to victims of violence in MSF-supported health facilities in the Artibonite region, following the principles:
• Principle of beneficence: Psychologists must act for the benefit of their patients, promoting their well-being and avoiding any harm.
• Principle of non-maleficence: Psychologists must avoid harming their patients and act with caution to minimize potential risks.
• Principle of autonomy: Psychologists must respect the autonomy and decision-making capacity of their patients, allowing them to actively participate in their therapeutic process.
• Principle of justice: Psychologists must treat all patients fairly and equitably, avoiding any form of discrimination.
• Principle of confidentiality: Psychologists must maintain the confidentiality of the information they obtain during the therapeutic process, except in cases where there is an imminent risk to the life of the patient or to third parties
Maintain and continuously improve professional knowledge and skills, ensuring that practice is based on the latest scientific evidence.
• Avoid any situation that could compromise impartiality and objectivity in the therapeutic process.
• Refer patients to other professionals when necessary.
• Complete each patient’s file to facilitate follow-up and appropriate care for patients under their responsibility.
• Collaborate on weekly or monthly medical reports as requested by their manager to assist in the technical analysis of the support MSF is providing.
• Participate in regular multidisciplinary meetings as required (case discussions, team meetings, etc.).
• Collaborate with the Mental Health Care Manager on training and raising awareness among the rest of the multidisciplinary team (MSF and MSPP) on issues related to mental health and gender-based violence (GBV).
• Promote and implement protocols and procedures related to infection prevention and control within mental health services.
SKILLS :
Education: Essential degree in Psychology.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a psychologist. Experience with MSF or another NGO is desirable . Experience and/or training in clinical psychology is desirable.
Languages: Creole and French are essential.
Computer skills: Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Internet is desirable.
