About HEKS/EPER

HEKS/EPER is the aid organization of the Protestant Churches of Switzerland. We work to promote social justice, reduce inequalities, and strengthen the resilience of people affected by crises, conflicts, and disasters.

Following the reactivation of its operations in Venezuela in 2026 to respond to the emergency caused by the earthquake, HEKS/EPER seeks to incorporate a Finance and Administration Coordinator to lead the financial, administrative and human resources management of the mission.

Finance and Administration Coordinator – Venezuela

Your main responsibilities

  • Contribute to the reopening of the HEKS/EPER office in Venezuela and the implementation of the country strategy in coordination with the Country Director.
  • Ensure the correct application of HEKS/EPER’s financial, administrative, human resources and compliance policies.
  • Prepare and oversee budgets, financial forecasts, cost coverage plans and funding proposals, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
  • Perform financial monitoring of projects and counterparties, including budget analysis, review of financial reports, risk management, and capacity building.
  • Manage the mission’s accounting, treasury, audits, tax compliance, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate human resources processes, recruitment and personnel administration.
  • Maintain adequate systems of institutional documentation, filing and reporting.
  • Oversee consultants, external suppliers, and the relationship with legal advisors and other service providers.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate training activities for staff and counterparts.

Required profile

Academic background

  • University degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or related areas.
  • Professional command of Spanish and English, both spoken and written.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in finance and administration within an international NGO, United Nations agency or similar organization.
  • Proven experience in budget preparation, treasury management, financial forecasting and budget monitoring.
  • Solid knowledge of applicable accounting standards and procedures.
  • Experience in financial management of grants funded by international institutional donors.
  • Experience in capacity building and support for partners or counterparts.
  • Experience in logistics and procurement procedures.
  • Experience in human resources management.
  • Previous professional experience in Venezuela or Colombia will be considered an essential requirement.

Contractual conditions

  • Type of contract: fixed-term contract, position open to national and international staff.
  • Initial duration: 6 months, renewable subject to availability of financing.
  • Workplace: coordination office in Bogotá with frequent trips to Caracas, depending on operational needs .
  • Health insurance provided by the organization.
  • Flexible hours and availability for frequent travel within the intervention area are required.
