As part of its project management in the Republic of Congo , the AVSI Foundation is recruiting a MEALS Coordinator .
The MEALS Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems for AVSI Congo’s programs. This position aims to ensure the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of data collection and reporting for all ongoing projects, strengthen accountability mechanisms with the affected populations, and promote organizational learning through the systematic documentation of best practices and lessons learned. The MEALS Coordinator works closely with the Program Manager, Project Managers, and the Regional MEALS Advisor.

Salary: 1800-2300€ net

Reporting to: Country Representative (hierarchical reporting) and Regional MEALS (functional reporting)

🎯Objective of the position:

  • In collaboration with the MEALS regional manager and program and project managers, establish a reliable and consistent set of performance and output indicators for all program activities, projects and new calls for proposals.
  • Oversee the development of project monitoring and evaluation plans in accordance with the project’s logical framework and in consultation with project teams for all ongoing projects.
  • Provide support for monitoring and evaluation of partner organizations, through capacity-building workshops; strengthen communication between AVSI and partners.
  • Support the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs/SoPs) and guidelines and update them as needed, particularly for work for pay and cash distribution.
  • Prepare post-project action reviews as needed.
  • Ensure timely compilation of internal and external progress reports and final reports of ongoing projects (MEALS update every month/two months) and digitize the reports.
  • Sharing of challenges, best practices, feedback and lessons learned from the field and data collected.
  • Supervise and guide the work of AVSI MEALS staff in the Republic of Congo and improve communication between departments, MEALS and programs (regular meetings).
  • Ensure continuous training for MEALS staff, improve their skills and act as a mentor to their staff.
  • Coordinate field visits to be carried out by MEAL department staff to ensure the quality of data collected by programs and to verify the accuracy of reported data (at least one visit per month).
  • Working closely with project teams, conduct information and feedback sessions with beneficiaries to guide them in expressing their needs and seeking assistance.
  • To guarantee and coordinate the archiving system for deliverables from the various projects.
  • Represent AVSI externally within the MEALS working group and establish a network with other organizations to share learnings and good practices in MEALS; For consortium-based projects, work closely with partners to develop follow-up plans and monitor their implementation.

📑 Other skills and experience required:

Technical skills

  • At least 4 years of professional experience in the MEALS sector within humanitarian and development organizations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French; knowledge of another language (English or Italian) is an advantage
  • Proven experience in using tools for collecting, managing and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data.

Additional Advantages
