Caritas Switzerland is a major aid organization in the field of development cooperation and humanitarian aid. Caritas Switzerland operates in around twenty countries with the aim of combating poverty. Present in Mali, its projects focus on income generation, climate change, and migration. As part of a project whose implementation is conditional on obtaining funding, Caritas Switzerland is seeking:

A Deputy Project Manager (long-term expert), Mali

Your tasks

  • Develop links and facilitate work with all institutions and agro-forestry, pastoral and fisheries organizations in Mali
  • Support the AMOA of the Ministry of Agriculture
  • Deepen the conditions for setting up and operating the SNCA system to be implemented
  • Facilitate and optimize the integration of the SNCA to be set up in the existing sectoral organization by working on potential difficulties and/or overlaps and by strengthening complementarities
  • Lead national working groups and participate in the awareness campaign in the regions
  • Contribute to the finalization of the operational system
  • Mediate between stakeholders whenever necessary
  • Deputize for the mission leader during his/her absences in terms of team coordination, management of activities and links with the sponsor and local authorities

The profile sought is that of an expert in structuring and governance of agricultural services.

Qualifications :

  • Engineering degree or university degree (master’s degree / Bac +5) in agronomy, agricultural development or rural economy;
  • 10 years of experience in public or private agricultural development organizations
  • 10 years in the implementation of development strategies, policies, programs or projects;
  • 1 short-term mission over the last 10 years in each administrative region of Mali;
  • 3 years of management of a development project financed by an international donor on the implementation of a financial strategy to support stakeholders
  • 5 years of experience in public and private agricultural advisory systems;
  • 2 years of experience (in total) in multi-stakeholder group facilitation, mediation and institutional intermediation in the agricultural sector;
  • 3 years of experience (in total) in organizing agricultural advice in three countries outside Mali
  • Knowledge of GIZ in Mali is an asset
  • Very good knowledge of French (oral and written);

  • Good adaptability, listening and negotiation skills;
  • Have the ability to work in a team and independently; Rigor and precision;
  • Adherence to the values ​​and Code of Conduct of Caritas Switzerland.

The work location is Bamako, Mali.
Start date: December 2025
Duration: 80 days of mission
